#player2 Samuel_Kaplan Samuel Kaplan
>Jamie_Ryan: ?ADELOV 8G sALVOED +72 72
#note So even though I am coming off a blowout win, I figured that somebody at some point in 7 games was going to bingo against me on his opening move. And it happened. 8H ALcOVED is the only other bingo that does score 78 for him.
>Samuel_Kaplan: DDEGSUV K7 V.GUE +18 18
#note I did like VOGUE setting up my S better than G5 GUV(s). However, I was not sure if VOGUED was good, and it is. Despite me taking out my own hook, it is clearly better equity. I don't need to be leaving the title of Doctor of Dental Sciences on my rack in this position. #knowledgemedium
>Jamie_Ryan: FGOT H7 F.GOT +9 81
#note Interesting.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AABDDIS L11 DAB +15 33
#note Once again plays making VOGUED are better, but even better is the nice I7 A(L)IDAD! Maybe he won't even see the ALIDADE hook, which is why this turn sucked too.
>Jamie_Ryan: MRT 12J TR.M +16 97
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADIILSX M12 .IX +32 65
#note I clearly wasn't crazy about this position either, but 6 points is too many to give up with J12 (T)IX over this. This looks fine even though Jamie will take Column N a lot of the time, but it will give me good Column O plays with my S a lot of the time too.
>Jamie_Ryan: BNU N13 BUN +35 132
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACDILST J12 .IC +11 76
#note Another pathetic play. I did not know CLADIST, but I'm thankful that no bingoes were missed here. O8 ALCIDS is 41 which is perfectly fine. #findinggross
>Jamie_Ryan: ANOT I6 TA.ON +19 151
#note Nice defensive play.
>Samuel_Kaplan: ADILSTT 10D DALT.. +9 85
#note Would G10 DIT have been worth it to force Jamie to open the left up for me? I definitely didn't like 12D DITAS, ADITS, etc. because I could really use a Row 15 or Column O bingo at this point. I had the right idea by opening up, but maybe it should have been done over the course of 2 moves. Jamie even thought I should have exchanged, but I'm just going to put myself further behind. Thoughts?
>Jamie_Ryan: EEFIIR D4 REIFIE. +24 175
#note O8 FEIRIE would have been nice for him, but this is also understandable.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAISTTW 11E WAI. +28 113
#note Definitely not willing to block the board with C4 AWAIT at this score. I'm making this play again.
>Jamie_Ryan: IQ C6 QI +29 204
>Samuel_Kaplan: ?ANRSTT O7 RATTeNS +79 192
#note Back in it, at least briefly. But so far, I've only drawn 1 E to this point.
>Jamie_Ryan: EOOZ N4 OOZE +35 239
>Samuel_Kaplan: HILOPRR O1 HOLP +43 235
#note Definitely needed the points as nothing else was that inspiring or scored nearly as much as this.
>Jamie_Ryan: EEJS 15G JEES +39 278
#note It's not going to be easy for me to claw my way back in this game after he's continuing to draw Es as well as the power tiles.
>Samuel_Kaplan: DHIMORR M1 DORM +21 256
>Jamie_Ryan: CEELW 1H CLEWE. +39 317
#note Once again not what I wanted to see. I did hold this because someone got away with CLEWES* against me a couple of years ago, but it's only CLEWS. I correctly accepted this. This would have been a brilliant X setup if that had still been unseen to me.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEHIRSY 12D YAH +30 286
#note I really didn't wanna play down here, but I clearly need to bingo to get back in this game as well as score, and I just had to hope he didn't have an A or wouldn't see the less obvious NYAH hook. Even if he didn't have an A and I did HAY in the same spot, he still can block effectively with a Row 13 play. Oh wait, I drew my 2nd E, oh wonderous joy!!
>Jamie_Ryan: AGKU C11 KAGU +28 345
#note Of course he addresses that effectively.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEINRSS 4A SIE.RANS +60 346
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEINRSS -- -60 286
#note While it is embarrassing that I apparently didn't know SIERRAN didn't take an S and only SIERRA did, the circumstances under which I attempted this phony weren't so bad. It was not going to be easy to win this game considering all Jamie has to do is make a 4 tile play from the E or even make a play into the R if I don't open up a 2nd lane. I ended up drawing EIPY out of the bag after he allowed me my courtesy draw, and he determined that if he doesn't challenge, he can't win. No fishing play would have done me any good as Jamie will empty the bag all the time and not allow me an out bingo.
>Jamie_Ryan: EINNORU E1 ROUEN +16 361
#note So he looked thru the S in the 4th position with the unplayable REUNION and correctly determined that there is no anagram of REUNIONS. This is the sort of play that I was referring to.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEINRSS 15A RISEN +28 314
#note I didn't spot his play of PINE(R)Y despite at least thinking this was stronger over RESIN in the same spot.
>Jamie_Ryan: EIINPY 1A PINE.Y +36 397
>Samuel_Kaplan: AS 2A AS +12 326
#note G8 (s)A(TI)S is insanely better vision and score. While only drawing 2 Es did put me at a disadvantage as well as his back to back Z and J plays, DAB, TIC, and maybe even DALTON were terrible plays. SIERRANS* was just an even worse word knowledge mistake that I should not be making as a Division 1 level player. Truly hard to say whether this game was winnable for me or not. Good game Jamie!
>Samuel_Kaplan: (I) +2 328
