#note we had an impromptu mini series from rounds 15-17
>Joe_Edley: GITW 8F TWIG +16 16
>Jackson: AELQSSV F6 QA. +32 32
#note QI bingoes a lot, but this is worth it
>Joe_Edley: EFHLLTT H7 F.LTH +11 27
#note actual rack. He laid down a couple other words before finding FILTH, so I knew he had EL, and likely ELT. The star play here is T(W)ELFTH
>Jackson: EFLNSSV 11G S.ELF +22 54
#note Lots of decent options here. LEVS/FILTHS, SEV/TWIGS, SEV/FILTHS, SELF/FILTHS, and SHELF are all decent. SEV/TWIGS wins a sim due to sheer defense, keeping my S powerful as well. I liked SHELF to block the Y hook in case he draws it, while keeping TWIGS alive. It seems LEVS/FILTHS is a better version though, just to shed the V. It seems like LEVS or SEV are the call
>Joe_Edley: EEGLOTY 12K ELEGY +31 58
#note actual rack. OY/FILTHY is probably worth it here, especially since I likely have an S and two consonants, so the E he throws out in the open is quite useful to me, and the Y in the O column is generally pretty dangerous for scoring
>Jackson: ABNOOSV N10 BO.AN +28 82
#note turns out neither the E nor the Y would be of use. SAVOY is a good play as well, or even 13I BOSON. I do prefer BOGAN overall
>Joe_Edley: APU O12 .AUP +31 89
>Jackson: OSSTUVZ -VOTU +0 82
#note missed two really good plays here, LUTZ and LUV. Totally missed the spot as a potential place to play. LUTZ is standard, and LUV is great longterm, and definitely what I woulda played had I seen it. LUV keeps the Z for the O column with OA draws (and some others), and LUVS for later, or immediately with some Z draws. Much better than exchanging
>Joe_Edley: OOW O8 WOO +22 111
>Jackson: INRSSUZ 10F ZI. +34 116
#note looks pretty close between ZINS and ZIT here. I considered ZIN/FEN, which sims quite well, which i don't really understand. It has me scoring far more after ZIN than ZIT, which is maybe due to Q playing with ZA more often than joe would. Between ZINS and ZIT, which I think are both reasonable, ZINS is far more aggressive, but may be slightly worth it overall.
>Joe_Edley: EEIOPRT N6 PIE +16 127
#note actual rack. I think E(G)O is the play here
>Jackson: MNORSSU 12F UMS +24 140
#note UMS or NORMS. given his decent range after PIE, I liked playing UMS to not give the extra lane, and NORS has good potential on the board with TWIGS, I can always refish. Given his actual rack, UMS is definitely better
>Joe_Edley: EEIIORT O2 TORII +10 137
#note I think this is what he said his rack was. I would again be a bit more leave-oriented here, G5 OI or EGO again, partly to just counterbingo if I bingo immediately.
>Jackson: BNORSTT M11 N.B +22 162
>Joe_Edley: EJ 2M JE. +20 157
>Jackson: AHORSTT J2 THROATS +73 235
#note tough call, whether to take the 8 points to play at 13a. I had an inkling he had a blank with JET, since it's such a weird looking play, which made me of course take J2. They're pretty close in a sim.
>Joe_Edley: ??CEINS 4E SINCE.er +72 229
#note I think he has a few better options here. CHINo AT 3I is pretty cool, even though it really kills his bingo options on the top of the board. It isn't very easy for me to block the 13 row without reopening more lanes, so he can try and hit that over the next few turns. CHINO wins a sim, but CLEANISH and ZECHINS 13A are also pretty good options
>Jackson: EEMNRUV 3C NEUME +25 260
#note lots of vowels in the pool so I liked playing this
>Joe_Edley: AEGNV 13B VEGAN +20 249
>Jackson: AERRRVY B10 VAR.E +38 298
#note I was really tempted to play A(e)RY here, blocking the X (letting me block OXO later as well), and with four Ds remaning VARVE is slightly worrisome, but the upside to VARVE is so good, blocking bingoes and scoring, saving AERY type plays for next turn. AERY really isn't much worse, but I think VARVE is right. It does better against OXO immediately
>Joe_Edley: CDEK 15B DECK +27 276
>Jackson: DDORRTY 3I T.RO +13 311
#note I don't see anything better than this, since it blocks OXO while saving good consonants for scoring and countering the vowel heavy pool. He could still hit OXEN or OX and make my life a bit difficult, since he wouldn't empty the bag, but I'm stlil favoured in that position and it's important to block OXO
>Joe_Edley: AN 2E NA +14 290
>Jackson: DDLORUY 1F RULY +27 338
#note I don't see a way to block ANOREXIA without giving up other losses, so I think I have to take RULY or RUDD and accept I lose if he has it
>Joe_Edley: AADIIRX 5J .X +36 326
>Jackson: DDEIOO C3 .ODI +5 343
#note OROIDE is better
>Joe_Edley: AADIIR 14E RID +18 344
