>Jason_Li: IIIUUUU -UUUUI +0 0
>Arie_Sinke: CEFNSTT -FT +0 0
#note I'm kind of forced to exchange here; no plays are really viable (EFT?)
>Jason_Li: IIIUUUU -UUUUI +0 0
>Arie_Sinke: CEGNRST -CG +0 0
#note Again, I'm basically forced to exchange. A number of exchanges are close; ENRST bingos the most.
>Jason_Li: BERV 8F VERB +18 18
>Arie_Sinke: ELNRSTT G7 T.L +5 5
#note Missed bingo #4 of the tournament: NETTLERS. This is pretty basic and I think I got tunnel vision here assuming that my rack was useless. I thought of SLATTERN while Jason was thinking and when I got a vowel other than A I assumed I had no options.
>Jason_Li: ILLZ 10D ZILL +19 37
>Arie_Sinke: EHINRST J2 HINTERS +80 85
#note This is the only bingo.
>Jason_Li: Q 3I Q. +21 58
>Arie_Sinke: AABDIIM 4H BI.DI +33 118
#note This is reasonable, but maybe ZAMIA for 32 instead? Creating a huge hook isn't optimal, but leaving AAM also isn't optimal. Sim marginally prefers ZAMIA.
>Jason_Li: DEINSTT 11E DISTENT +95 153
>Arie_Sinke: AAAEMMS 5E MAMA +20 138
#note I talked myself out of STEMMA H10 for 47. I thought it was a Latin word. Even if I don't play that, I have a bunch of plays that look better than MAMA, including DAME K4 24. This play isn't very good. I am probably ovevaluing AES here.
>Jason_Li: IJN 6D JIN +20 173
>Arie_Sinke: AEOPRSS M4 SOAPERS +72 210
#note This looks fine, better than the overly aggressive 12I position.
>Jason_Li: AFL 8L F.AL +33 206
>Arie_Sinke: AIIOORU 2J .OURI +16 226
#note Is this even better than exchanging? Sim seems to think it's a close call. This is probably fine, but exchanging is also probably fine.
>Jason_Li: GORT 7B TROG +21 227
>Arie_Sinke: AEGIKOP 12K OKAPI +26 252
#note I was reluctant to play the higher scoring placement of OKAPI (N10 for 30) because it sets up an S hook with two blanks out. The plays sim quite closely, along with TAIKO H11 and OKA 1M. I'm more comfortable with my play than the other options, all of which I considered.
>Jason_Li: ?ADENOW 13I gOWANED +93 320
>Arie_Sinke: CEGNNUU B1 UNGUEN. +20 272
#note I'm in a difficult position here. It's possible that I draw a 3x3 through the U, or draw another bingo that plays on row 14 if Jason blocks the U. Not sure what else is reasonable.
>Jason_Li: AERY 14K YEAR +44 364
>Arie_Sinke: CCEEEVY 1A C.VEE +33 305
#note I suppose I have a chance at winning by getting some unlikely bingo through the L? Better this than to sacrifice equity to keep the U open, as it will almost certainly get blocked.
>Jason_Li: AEFGIWX N5 EW +28 392
>Arie_Sinke: CDEHOUY N10 HO... +31 336
#note Missed HYPER in the same spot. Another possibility is DOBY I6 for 21, giving me a remote possibility of drawing mECHOUI 14C and bingoing out. I don't see how this could work in practise, as it will always get blocked. GUYED 3B does well in sims for some reason; it likely offers me more flexibility going into the endgame, as CHO is a lot better than these other leaves with U's in them. I don't know what the best play is, but I'm pretty sure that A) HOPER isn't it and B) I'm going to lose this game.
>Jason_Li: AEFGITX O11 F.. +12 404
>Arie_Sinke: ACDEEUY 8A YA +24 360
#note I wanted to use the UNGUENTA hook, but YUCA 4A looks like a better play. Blocks COAX, which scores more than OXO M2, and keeps fewer tiles
>Jason_Li: ?AGIOTX A1 .OAX +43 447
>Arie_Sinke: CDEEOU C1 .OE +23 383
#note This looks best. Some correct plays this game; too bad about missing NETTLERS and STEMMA.
>Jason_Li: ?GIT 12C GIsT +14 461
