#note CoCo San Diego Tournament
13 March, 2022
Game 13
Apparently BEM(E)TINg# is a word that plays here for 94.
>Puneet_Sharma: AIBDR F10 BRAID +34 112
>Stefan_Kac: EOOOUCN E10 OUNCE +36 112
>Puneet_Sharma: IONP I9 PION +19 131
>Stefan_Kac: IOOGHRR 5D GORI.R +14 126
#note I've seen (V)IGORO# but do not see it here. I didn't know (CIT)O either and I kind of hate the IGRR leave enough to pass on the H13 options anyway. BRAID then PION does scream ess, but perhaps playing max defense was silly since I still leave a giant opening at the bottom...in which case (V)IGOR should have been quite acceptable. And GOOIER outsims GORIER. Other than all of that, perfectly played.

#note This is ok. F4 A(R)UHE# for players who know their fives.

#note Sim mildly prefers keeping more of the rack together. 13B EE is such a roboplay but it might be ok depending on what we think opp is holding. I'm reluctant to play there or underneath WAXED in this type of situation because it often gives back a bigger-scoring overlap and/or narrows the range of responses opp has to worry about.

>Puneet_Sharma: AQT 13A QAT +33 328
>Stefan_Kac: AEOGHVW 15A VAW +38 314
#note So, QAT is the board-killing rejoinder to the above despite the fact that yes, we get 38 to opp's 33.

#note Darn, didn't love SHUG* but was too fixated on my own stuff.
Sim has us bingoing and winning over half the time after a simple U-drop. This should have been more obvious given the near inevitability of a big F play in column n which no less inevitably gives back (IF)S hooks. On the third hand, since that % probably includes a lot of drecky csw stuff I don't know, plus the straight sim being stupid in the pre-endgame, maybe this ULU play is actually the right choice for me personally in this moment even though it is not particularly likely to win.
