Postgame, opp offered that this choice was "careless" and the product of too much online play. On the flipside, if your gameplan is to make the game a 50/50 game, then this is a brilliant way to do it. I had to sweat this spot every subsequent turn; blocking never seemed worth it (where it was even possible); I had much trouble finding quality high-turnover plays; etc., etc. Opp was pleasant enough and the game was interesting enough, but mostly this was torture.
Seems to me that if you do hold a juicy hook it's more often worth playing it than getting too cute...but looking back here, this actually is a solid position to hold back the K...playing it pretty much gives back the 20 that you cashed in, and the V position makes blocking tough.
