#player2 Mark_Garrod Mark Garrod
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEEHLPR 8D HELPER +30 30
#note Debated between this and HEAPER. Didn't see ALEPH. All three are just about equal.
>Mark_Garrod: JTTY E7 J.TTY +30 30
>Jonathan_Lindh: ADELMRT G4 TRAM.LED +67 97
#note Best play. Thankfully this stayed open.
>Mark_Garrod: AX D11 AX +23 53
>Jonathan_Lindh: CDDELOR C9 CODED +40 137
#note Best play.
>Mark_Garrod: ?BIINRU 4C BRUI.INg +70 123
#note Best play.
>Jonathan_Lindh: LNORRTW B12 ROW +25 162
>Mark_Garrod: EMW A13 MEW +35 158
>Jonathan_Lindh: ALNORTZ H1 NAZ. +39 201
#note Bad miss of AZLON H11 for 75. First significant mistake of the game. Looked in that spot, saw AZOLE, AZURE, and AZOTE but not AZLON.
>Mark_Garrod: EFL F3 L.EF +30 188
>Jonathan_Lindh: EILOORT H10 LOITER +26 227
>Mark_Garrod: GGINRV 14G V.RGING +16 204
>Jonathan_Lindh: AAEOQSU M11 QUA. +28 255
#note Another bad miss of 13J AQUAE for 50. I saw the word on my rack, looked for a spot to play it. Didn't see 13J. Josh Sokol wondered after the game why I didn't do AQAUE. Straight up miss.
>Mark_Garrod: DFIN N10 FIND +32 236
>Jonathan_Lindh: AEEOOSV O8 VOES +38 293
#note I saw OAVES and EAVES but liked keeping the board tight given the S's that were out. Quackle likes those two more but I still stand by my play.
>Mark_Garrod: AEEHNPS J6 PASHEEN +82 318
>Mark_Garrod: AEEHNPS -- -82 236
#note We both missed SAPHENAE in game. I knew the word, but thankfully Mark didn't see it. That probably gives him the win.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AEEIOU 9I EAU +7 300
#note Blocking this spot but probably should block SAPHENAE.
>Mark_Garrod: AEEHNPS 10B H. +13 249
#note SAPHENAE again.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?EIIIOT A10 TI +8 308
#note More blocking.
>Mark_Garrod: AEENPS 7I ANE +8 257
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?AEIIO 1H .AOI +4 312
#note Partial rack. I was doing more blocking.
>Mark_Garrod: NOO 5A ONO +7 264
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?BEIIKS L2 KIBEIS +28 340
#note Didn't even see the bingo. More spread lost. 6I BIRKIES for 77.
>Mark_Garrod: AEGOPSU - +0 264
#note L2 KOPS for 20 is apparently best. Mark unsuccessfully challenged KIBEIS.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?ACSTY A4 C.AST +30 370
#note My play is 2 off 15M SAC. Tied for the second best play.
>Mark_Garrod: AEGOPSU 2G G.SP +25 289
#note Second best to 5E PERSE for 38. Mark blocked H2 ANY which is what I was setting up.
>Jonathan_Lindh: ?Y 2L .aY +18 388
#note Best play along with KEY and KYE in the same spot.
>Jonathan_Lindh: (AEOU) +8 396
#note This game wasn't great, I shouldn't be missing AZLON, AQUAE or BIRKIES but I played well enough to win. 5-3 with a +40 spread at the end of day 1. Four missed bingos (CERVELAT, TITANATE, GUTTATE, and BIRKIES), plus a better bingo (FLOATIER vs. FLUORITE) and a playable bingo that wasn't optimal to play (ENROOTED). Performance wasn't bad for my first day back but I could have racked up quite a bit more spread plus won the game versus David.
