#note Rd 4 Philly virtual 9-9-2021.
>eddybear: AABEGHI 7G ABA +23 23
#note I do like this better over AHA in this spot- it allows him better opportunities to fork next turn knowing the H is a more flexible tile to keep than the B.
>skaplan31: DIOSUVY 6I YOD +18 36
#note I think 6E IVY would have been fine here too. #findingsadder
>eddybear: EGHIITX 5J HEX +37 60
#note Luckily he would have scored anyway after 6E IVY. I really like L3 EIGHT setting up his X.
>skaplan31: AEIISUV 4L AVE +30 66
#note I did see 4L AI, but I liked the idea of forking better.
>eddybear: EGIINST 4D IGNITES +74 134
#note Wasn't stopping that from happening.
>skaplan31: DFFIISU O1 FIDS +35 101
>eddybear: AEILMOO 3F OLIO +16 150
#note It does not surprise me that OLIO at 9H does sim better because I can hit Ed back nicely with a play ending at 2F. That does seem safer.
>skaplan31: ACDFIUZ 2C CUIF +31 132
#note Yep. I like how I can literally save 2H ADZ for next turn. I did see F1 AZ()N)IC, but that blocks Row 6 extremely well and offers Ed an easy Row 1 counterplay. I'm fine with the short term 12 point sacrifice if it means scoring myself without giving him something nice to work with.
>eddybear: ?AEEEMR N1 EME.R +30 180
#note N1 EME(E)RAtE would have been a sweet find for him. He had the right idea by going there at least.
>skaplan31: AADENOZ 5C ANODE +31 163
#note Now I can at least save 6B ZA too.
>eddybear: ?ACEENT 9B CETANEs +71 251
#note I thought I was climbing my way back in this one nicely. Guess not. CETANEs does give him the best win % over TENACEs and ENACTEd in the same spot because I can't counter with a Row 8 play in this case.
>skaplan31: AOPRRUZ B9 .ZAR +35 198
#note Not much of a choice but to have to open. Good thing I had patience with the Z, but that's kind of a moot point when I'm now down 2 bingoes.
>eddybear: AAHIJMR A11 MARIA +31 282
>skaplan31: EIOPRTU 3K OP +16 214
#note Wasn't seeing a way to hit a Column E bingo by fishing off the U with F2 FONDU. 3K UP is a better equity play, but 1 bingo won't be enough to get back in this one. Q bingoes are gonna help more, as unlikely as those are.
>eddybear: EHJKNQT 6B KENT +27 309
#note 14A INKJET is not easy to spot, and it's definitely worth it here.
>skaplan31: BDEIRTU M4 .ERBID +32 246
#note Scoring and keeping Column E open with this over 8C DUB or 10E BUD. Not sure if Ed would have spotted sneaky Column M plays, but it's probably my only hope at this point.
>eddybear: ?HJLQUY H1 QU.. +39 348
#note Definitely understandable. I do also like 8L J(I)vY for 63 keeping the better HLQU leave.
>skaplan31: EGGIOTU L8 GIGUE +26 272
>eddybear: ?HJLNRY 11K J.RY +28 376
#note Nice defense.
>skaplan31: AEOPTTU C8 P.AT +22 294
#note Not sure I really need Column D open with my 2 Ts and the 1 more unseen to me. I was honestly just trying to score something and hope for the best at this point.
>eddybear: ?HLLNNT E8 H.LL +14 390
#note That's all good.
>skaplan31: EOOSTUV 12K O. +11 305
#note I can only hypothetically bingo out 2/8 here (and 1/8 in 2 spots)- by drawing the blank I have 15A (A)UTOSaVE and 15F OUTViES/VOlUTES, and 15F VOLUTES by drawing the L.
>eddybear: ?ILNNRT N10 T.INg +18 408
#note 13H LINTs does work best for him- he blocks my clear best moves at 13I and he has 2 out plays after that which are 2H (U)RN and 8L (GI)RN.
>skaplan31: EOSSTUV 13I VETS +29 334
#note This does a better job of netting spread with this over 13G STOVES or 13H VOTES or 13I VOES.
>eddybear: LNR 8L ..RL +15 423
>skaplan31: OSU J8 SOU +15 349
#note So if I had won this game, I would have finished 2nd. At least I found ways to score nicely without having to burn the Z, and CUIF was a prime example of that because he got barely anything back and I saved ADZ, but CETANEs just proved to be too much. Gotta be able to spot things like WIDOW in the beginning though. Good game Ed!
