Interesting stuff. It's gonna be either win if I win, or show if I lose. So here it goes: seeing that GOY* has not been good for a few months now (I still don't see how to update my Quackle to NWL2020), this does win the sim by default.
>TheBigEZ: AAEENSU I7 A.UE +7 7
#note Not sure why K8 NAUSEA sims best. I like Ed'd play.
>skaplan31: DEEPRSU 11E PERUSED +96 112
#note Yes!
>TheBigEZ: AAAEINS 10F AA +10 17
#note Looks best.
>skaplan31: EHIKORR J10 H.RO +28 140
#note This or 12J HORK are neck and neck in the sim. I like having scoring flexibility for next turn by keeping the K.
>TheBigEZ: AAEIMNS K2 ANEMIAS +77 94
#note His best move is the anagram AMNESIA at 14I for 82.
>skaplan31: EGIIKQR 12D QI +26 166
#note Annoying Q...
>TheBigEZ: DEHINOZ J2 ZONE +72 166
#note Not sure if he saw 2J ZAIDEH, but this is definitely safer anyway. Still hurts that he zapped me with this.
>skaplan31: EGIKRTU 13C KITER +36 202
#note Can always draw L4 plays next turn keeping GU which isn't usually a great leave. I did see 13C KIT but this game is too close, and the S hook will be very annoying to block. KITER over KITE makes X parallels harder to do.
>TheBigEZ: DEEHILV 14F HELD +31 197
>skaplan31: CDEGINU 15I EDUCING +95 297
#note Wow then, some plays he makes wouldn't have given me a spot for this! Lucky me.
>TheBigEZ: AEILNSV O8 SLEAVIN. +98 295
#note Not so lucky me for a 3 point loss over that sequence.
>skaplan31: BINRTTW 4G TWI..R +26 323
#note Best play.
>TheBigEZ: FIOORTT H1 FRO. +30 325
>skaplan31: BDJMNTV -BJMNTV +0 323
#note I completely underestimated how meaningful playing thru this rack was. I was definitely turned off by keeping many clunky consonants by passing up 6J DINT, DIM, etc. I did exchange because there was only 1 R and 1 S left in the pool. It is interesting how Q likes keeping NT here instead of just D. This is 1 of those boards where either I'm gonna score a lot or I'm not gonna score much. I guess NT might be a more bingo prone leave here, but what if I draw garbage again after this exchange? Then what do I do?
>TheBigEZ: ?IOPTTY 5D TYPO +20 345
#note Looks like Ed's best play.
>skaplan31: BDEILSU 6J D.B +29 352
#note Might as well do this with the open T now.
>TheBigEZ: ?AFIOTV N9 AFT +31 376
>skaplan31: AEILRSU 14N U. +8 360
#note L4 RUB is 2 more. Still need a bingo now.
>TheBigEZ: ??INOOV D2 OVa.IONs +70 446
#note D1 VOlu(T)ION would have been 8 more for him, but with the nature of this board, now it's gonna be that much harder for me to catch up.
>skaplan31: AEGILRS 14B GIS +26 386
#note Unfortunately, Quackle's best play of 2J ZAG isn't gonna help me. I just need to hope he doesn't have an E or an O to be able to block directly.
>TheBigEZ: CEEJLNW A11 JEWEL +53 499
#note My Hail Mary attempt is defended well enough in the endzone as time expired.
>skaplan31: AAELORX 8A AXO.E +36 422
>TheBigEZ: BCMNTT 2C C.MB +16 515
#note Yea wasn't stopping that from happening without giving up so many points.
>skaplan31: ALR 6F AR +13 435
#note If going out didn't mean scoring 11 points with 13L LARI, it would have been fine to play an out in 2. This is where it's not fine to play an out in 2. #questionable
>TheBigEZ: NTT 7C T.N +9 524
>skaplan31: L 14M L.. +5 440
#note At least the endgame wouldn't have made a difference in the outcome of the game. I'd be curious to know if anyone would have played thru the BDJMNTV rack and if not, what would they have kept. Ed played very well and ultimately found ways to keep up. You deserve the tourney win man!
