#description Created with Macondo
>skaplan31: DFHKLRS -DFHKLR +0 0
#note Rd 1 of HOPPY tourney 3/20-3/21. Keeping HS, RS, and S are all reasonable.
>SevenTyler: ?DEGIOU 8D GUIDE +18 18
#note There are no bingoes. Looks fine to me.
>skaplan31: EEHOPSS 7F HOPE +24 24
#note Didn't get the L that I was looking for with HOPELESS. There is only 1 other 8 which I did not see, HEPTOSES. This is best.
>SevenTyler: ?CCEEOW 6G COW +24 42
#note 9F EEW is 2 more, but this play is reasonable as he wouldn't think I'm keeping a Y after HOPE. Also, CC is rather clunky so I can understand him undoubling that.
>skaplan31: ELNSSSY J5 LYSE +45 69
#note Missed J1 SLYNESS, and I did not know its anagram SELSYNS.
>SevenTyler: ?CEEERU 5J .URE +8 50
#note Luckily he also missed a bingo K8 REsCUEE.
>skaplan31: ADENOSS M3 AD.NOSES +72 141
#note Good. This is also gettable and I didn't miss this time.
>SevenTyler: ?CEEEMZ 8M .EZ +36 86
#note L9 MEZE is fun to think about when he's behind.
>skaplan31: DEGIORY N1 GYRED +31 172
#note Why not try to outrun him and duplicate a floater that's already open?
>SevenTyler: ?ACEEIM 1L MA.I +30 116
#note Again no bingoes play. 1K IMAGE keeps better for him.
>skaplan31: IIIIIOT -IIIIIOT +0 172
#note Normally I might keep the T, but there isn't a single T on this board. Therefore, it's better to throw them all back.
>SevenTyler: ?CEEETX 2F EXCrETE +73 189
#note I would not have seen D5 EXE(G)ETiC. Simming about even with his bingo here is O3 EX which is worth considering because he can bingo in multiple spots on this board.
>skaplan31: ?AANORV 1D VARA +22 194
#note Looked for a while, I only saw OVARiAN but not the only 8, ANOVULAR. Truly amazing how many bingoes a V can kill sometimes. This is highest scoring play available.
>SevenTyler: HIJORTU N10 HOURI +45 234
#note And he finds a nice play that does not involve spending the J. Nice one.
>skaplan31: ?IMNOOO D6 OO.ONIuM +70 264
#note Very happy to see this only bingo but not sure why I didn't do this at 12H for 6 more. It's worth noting that I did attempt to submit this one for best botanical word, but because it's a kind of algae, and algae is not considered a plant, it didn't qualify as a candidate for best botanical word. It was worth a shot.
>SevenTyler: AIJLNOT C3 JOINT +31 265
#note I would have considered 13I JAILOR or C9 JOT here- he does need the points in a close game and there are no more Os left in the pool, therefore he doesn't need to worry about big Row 14 underlaps with JAILOR, and JOT has the upside of preventing big Column B reparallels over C9 JO.
>skaplan31: AEFIINN 13I FAINE. +26 290
#note This play along with L9 FAIN and 13B FAMINE were considered. I passed up FAMINE as it would allow him to make a nice Column B play which would fork nicely. This has the benefit of taking out easy Column K bingoes and goes for the last S better over L9 FAIN. If he has a play ending with the B or W or something, I get nice counterplays often with my N.
>SevenTyler: ABLNPTT 4A BL.T +18 283
#note 9F PANT is a fun play for 30.
>skaplan31: ABIKNST 15H BANKITS +101 391
#note Good thing I had a nice backup plan to do H1 SCAB for 57 if this got blocked. This does seal the deal for me.
>SevenTyler: AAINPRT A4 .RAIN +21 304
#note 12H PINTA does play for 33.
>skaplan31: ADFLTUW K8 FLAW +25 416
>SevenTyler: AEIPRTV 11B PR.VATE +24 328
#note 13B VAMPER would not have allowed me as big of a Q response. I only get to do 10I QUA in that case.
>skaplan31: DGLQTU F10 Q.T +32 448
#note That's why.
>SevenTyler: I 10F .I +13 341
#note Couple mistakes on both ends but solidly played, I'm certainly glad to have gotten BANKITS down to ice it.
>SevenTyler: (DGLU) +12 353
