>Carl: EHIILLT 8G HILI +14 14
>ISC_Bot: AEORRUW G7 W.ORE +16 16
>Carl: EEEGLLT 11D GEL.E +12 26
#note I spent a long time on this play, which sims best. Both this and the C11 placement are susceptible to overlaps. Both placements seemed better than just GLE(E) because it keeps a better leave, and doesn't take any hooks. GLEE F4 looks pretty good, but it opens up lanes and takes the A front hook while doing nothing to take out H11. Astonishingly, GLEE 7J sims second-best here, which seems completely counterintuitive.
>ISC_Bot: ADFOORU 12H FORDO +35 51
>Carl: ?EFILOT 13C FOLIaTE +79 105
>ISC_Bot: ADEIRTU 14B DERAT +29 80
>Carl: AAELNSZ 15A LAZE +64 169
#note It's clearly right to pass up the bingo here: NASALIZE is only 7 points more and keeps row 15 open.
>ISC_Bot: IMNOTUV 11K OMIT +22 102
>Carl: AAEENPS O11 SPEAN +37 206
#note I agonized over whether to fish at this score with something like 13K APE. If the scores were closer, or I was behind, I definitely would have done something like that. SPEAN again sims best, with APNEA 10I close behind. Something the sim doesn't consider is that a savvy opponent is more likely to be hoarding an S or blank. The ISC bots are spewier than the average expert, but it's a bit optimistic to think the AI has dodged all these tiles over the first half of the game.
>ISC_Bot: INORSUV 13L RIV. +19 121
>Carl: AEKUUVX 10A UVEA +18 224
#note To this day, I've never played a perfect game. Here, the sim winner is UVULA I5 (setting up EX 10I, as well as other potential X plays at H5) or KUE 14J, taking out row 15. (-2)
>ISC_Bot: ANNOSUW 14J WAN +20 141
>Carl: ABKNRUX A4 BUNRAK. +48 272
#note Even after 21 years of play, getting down a cool word brings me such elation. This game never gets old!
>ISC_Bot: ?NOQSSU 15F SUQ +39 180
>Carl: ABMNOPX J7 M.NX +29 301
#note Drat! I saw BOMBAX but couldn't pull the trigger. Thought I might be confuxing BOMBAST and BOMBYX. (-7) My word knowledge isn't what it was a year ago. At a different score, I would have tried it. Likewise, against a lower-rated human opponent, particularly if they just challenged BUNRAKU, I'd have tried it. What's especially dumb is that this was a void game, so I could have tried it without penalty. (The bots use sometimes double, sometimes void challenge).
>ISC_Bot: ?CDNOST F6 DOC +25 205
>Carl: AABDIOP E3 BIPOD +30 331
#note This sims even with PAID E4.
>ISC_Bot: ?GNOSST K2 STiNGOS +79 284
>Carl: AAEHINT I3 ANTHE.IA +82 413
#note I nearly missed this. When I found it, it also made me smile, and smiles are rare when you're dying alone in a crumbling society where everything is falling apart. Hopefully, it made you smile too.
>ISC_Bot: ACEGRTY B1 GYRATE +34 318
>Carl: EEIIJUY C3 EYE +27 440
#note Best. Very counterintuitive to keep the J.
>ISC_Bot: C 6D C.. +6 324
#note Total equity lost: 9 points. I'll get that perfect game someday.
>ISC_Bot: (IIJU) +22 346
