>Josh: DEIJRRS H4 JERRIDS +96 96
>Jackson: AAIILTT 9G A.IT +7 7
#note tough position - I really don't want to close 8s lanes and so I didn't like AIT - it also allows him to play vertically and close further. ADIT leaves the 10 row open cause basically every tile goes after the A, and it also leaves the ER open which work great with AILT
>Josh: EGLMVXY 5F YL.M +9 105
#note I flashed the X here by accident, however I didn't think Jackson saw it and I figured he might just see this play as a dump and a defensive play. The hook comes up so rarely and he was probably not in a state to pay so much attention to what I was doing.
If he blocks the setup I can just play VEX(T) J6 to block that lane or VEXE(S) if I draw an E. His leave is clearly something like AIT+consonant, not necessarily an S however. XYLEM is obviously better than this however, but I figured his chances of blocking the setup were slim to none and at this point I wanted to play fancy-shmancy, I had just dropped 5 games in a row and opened with a 96-point bingo. These positions don't come up often enough to let them pass.
>Jackson: AAEHILT 8J ALTHEA +32 39
#note can't believe I didn't realize what he was doing - even if he's making a fake setup sometimes it's only sometimes - I have to block. HAI(R) looks good or AHA 4D. I could also do HETAIRA though i'd rather keep a better leave. Terrible oversight! didn't even think about why he made the odd looking YLEM play
>Josh: EVX E3 VEX +60 165
>Jackson: ?EIIOUY 3D I.Y +9 48
#note tough position... maybe YOM is a better version because I score a lot better. IVY is partly to draw bingoes and partly to put a lot of pressure on him, he may block or I may draw a T. I thought about OU(R)IE but it allows him to make 6 row plays that destroy the board, so I discarded it. I thought about exchanging as well.
>Josh: AEGINPS 10B GAPINE.S +71 236
>Josh: AEGINPS -- -71 165
#note I was quite confident that this was valid, but I still should have played PAGANISE because I was more confident in that. I didn't remember SPINAGES/SPAEINGS, I saw SPAEING but didn't remember that it took an S
>Jackson: ?DEIOSU 10A OUtSIDE. +66 114
#note I missed EmU(L)SOID.
>Josh: AEGINPS O5 PAG.NISE +62 227
#note had EMULSOID come down, I would not have been able to remember if it took an S. Potential game-changer. Now I just have to wait one turn and hope he doesn't 3x3 or score massively with the Q. Still not the brightest move to play GAPINESS* last turn! Lots of ways for Jackson to win now.
>Jackson: ANNOOTZ A8 ZO.N +39 153
#note strongly considered fishing NAN(O) to go for an R and N2 TROOZ, but I score a lot and I hold the T hook for TIVY and I'm fairly likely to bingo - I think my chances are good enough to take zoon
>Josh: ?DEEEII 11C EIDE +22 249
>Jackson: AEHNOOT N4 OOH +31 184
#note hmm maybe HOO on the bottom instead to block the scoring spot - I still keep the 13 row open after HOO.
>Josh: ?EEGIKS 12E SEEKInG +74 323
#note not wanting to open the 3x3 here. There are no eses or blanks left so I don't have to worry about SEEKINGS* being valid. It is clearly wrong to play GEEKIeS(T). I also saw S(T)EEKInG but was not 100%
>Jackson: AAEEINT H12 .ANA +24 208
#note Josh: Jackson is catching zero breaks here. However if this is his rack, (K)ANE looks like an improvement over (K)ANA.
>Josh: CFLLRUW 15G L.WFUL +13 336
#note He clearly has a T here I would say. I once again can't open a 3x3 with CU(I)F D1. I can block the T hook on IVY with R(I)F D2, but if he bingos after that I might be in bad shape. Say he bingos on the bottom of the board, I have to choose if I should block the L/K lanes or the B lane or row 14/15 (if anything remains open). I might not be able to withstand another bingo with my rack leave. So I chose to deal with most of the bottom of the board and allow myself to score next turn and block other parts of the board. A sim likes N12 FULL which I didn't consider. That looks decent because it blocks the biggest threat on the board, an 100+ point Q play down column N
>Jackson: EEGINTT 4H .ET +14 222
#note lolol vext
>Josh: AACDIRR B3 CARDIA +24 360
#note now I get to block the largest threats. I can't really lose now unless to an 120-pointer on column N. Lucky to hit this play. Jackson desperation held but obivously this is valid, you dare hold the 2018 div 2 national champ?
>Jackson: EGINOTT 6E TO +25 247
#note there we go
>Josh: CFMNORW N10 MOWN +32 392
#note missed M3 CWM although I remember seeing the word? Still it would seem like time to hope he wasn't fishing for an 100-point Q word on column N.
>Jackson: EGINOTT D1 TO.T +14 261
>Josh: ABBNRUV 2F BURB +27 419
#note BUB would have been greedier, setting up NAV for 30 at least, but otherwise I would rather block the T next turn as well as 40-50-point plays at 3I
>Jackson: CEGINQR J7 Q.. +12 273
>Josh: AEFNPUV K2 UVEA +25 444
#note VENA is 3 points better, wasn't sure, figured there was value in keeping F(A)N 13G for next turn. Gotta block GERON(T)IC though
>Jackson: CEGINOR C6 ENG +24 297
#note sorry Jackson :( Nice endgame though, I didn't look for his outplay, but COIR first is better since I have a harder time blocking ENG
>Josh: FNPR 13G F.N +23 467
#note PR(OS) is 9 better, his endgame was better than optimal.
>Jackson: CIOR M11 COIR +27 324
>Jackson: (PR) +8 332
