#player2 Joshua_Sokol Joshua Sokol
>Richard_Popper: CDEI 8F ICED +14 14
>Joshua_Sokol: AEIIJRY G7 I.Y +13 13
#note I was most afraid of losing in this position. This is probably the best play, surprisingly. I should be able to score OK with my J next turn. The other option is AJI and AD.
>Richard_Popper: EEV E7 EVE +17 31
>Joshua_Sokol: AEIJRUW I3 JURIE. +23 36
#note I was actually more afraid of losing once I drew UW out of the bag, waiting for Richard to make a move.
I kind of thought this would be an automatic play. However, JURA/AE is probably better on paper. I don't give Richard as much counterplay.
#questionable
>Richard_Popper: DEIKLT D2 KILTED +25 56
>Joshua_Sokol: AEGHINW 3I .AWING +34 70
#note I could go for HAW(K)ING here, but I thought that was just too radiating of a play. Hohoho science jokes. Jokes aside, I didn't see HAWKING I think.
>Richard_Popper: AEE K2 A.EE +14 70
>Joshua_Sokol: EHILRRU 2A HUL.IER +32 102
#note RU(K)H is also an option, but he seems to have not score-y tiles so I'm more OK with HULKIER here? Dunno, maybe I should avoid making this sort of play. #questionable
>Richard_Popper: NO 1A ON +23 93
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AGLNRT L3 .NTeGRAL +74 176
>Richard_Popper: OPU 8L .OUP +18 111
>Joshua_Sokol: EMOTUWX 1F MEOW +33 209
#note I liked keeping the X here, since it would be sometimes very nice to respond to bingos with. I didn't like that W(A)X protected the S hook on INTEGRALS. But TUX seems a bit unwieldy sometimes when he bingos, so it's probably better to just play W(A)X here. #questionable
>Richard_Popper: Z 2J Z. +62 173
>Joshua_Sokol: ?FIPTUX 9K F.X +38 247
>Richard_Popper: EOV 10J VE.O +30 203
>Richard_Popper: EOV -- -30 173
#note Jim Potter once got away with this against me in my first CSW tournament. So this was pretty funny. Sorry Richard, though I do love my VELOS (bicycles) :(
>Joshua_Sokol: ?CIPTTU D9 PUTT +16 263
#note hoping he misses PUTTO
>Richard_Popper: EOV 6B VO. +14 187
>Joshua_Sokol: ?ACINOS 11D .ACtIONS +86 349
>Richard_Popper: AEIORST O6 SE.TORIA +61 248
>Joshua_Sokol: AEFNOST 12G OF +19 368
#note I think I missed 3B NA(I)F. That seems good here as well, since I am not sure of SEPTORIAS, so a lot of the value of OF decreases if I choose not to play SEPTORIAS. #knowledgesmall
>Richard_Popper: ABH N10 BAH +31 279
>Joshua_Sokol: AADENST 13F ANSATED +69 437
#note I underscored this by 2. #countingsmall
>Richard_Popper: IQ 13C QI +29 308
>Joshua_Sokol: BGMORSY 14I MOS +17 454
#note 14M BYS for sure. I was unsure of SEPTORIAS, which is annoying. I wanted to block RELAND. This is -21. The best non-BYS play is the crazy J13 (T)OR for 5. #endgamelarge
>Richard_Popper: ADELNR 15H DAL +20 328
#note um. It would seem that I let him get away with TOL* here? This seems very weird. But this is what I have recorded. I'm gonna go with this not having happened, but I'll record the game as it is! Heh. #visionlarge?
>Joshua_Sokol: BGRY 14F BY +29 483
>Richard_Popper: ENR 5D .ERN +8 336
>Richard_Popper: (GR) +6 342
#note final score recorded as 481-342. Hm.
