>Steven_Dinapoli: AEIMNWW 7G WAW +28 70
>Joshua_Sokol: AEIKRST M9 KRAIT +39 49
#note considered dropping the K and this or TRAIK. I didn't consider KI or KA. KI is clearly better than KA because it allows so much less counterplay at N10. TRAIK might also be better than KRAIT because is slows Steven down more than it slows me down, I don't really want to bingo at M1 despite it being the most fortuitous lane on the board. M9 KI is the play. #findingsmall
>Steven_Dinapoli: AEIMNOU L12 MEOU +24 94
#note SD: Q prefers M3 ONIUM by a small margin.
>Joshua_Sokol: BEGLLSS 15K B.GLE +24 73
#note instant regret at playing KRAIT.
>Steven_Dinapoli: AAEEINR N9 AE +15 109
#note SD: Tough position here. This play seems fishy, but in fact there's not a whole lot that scores more. Q is a tossup between playing this here and at 6F/6G/6I. My placement is obviously riskier, but it scores more points than the row 6 plays. I ultimately went with the "when in doubt, take the points" strategy.
>Joshua_Sokol: DELNRSS O5 LENDS +26 99
>Steven_Dinapoli: AEINORS M1 ERASION +69 178
#note Josh blocked the best placement for this (O6), so I'm forced to take the one remaining spot and pray that he doesn't hit the triple-triple.
>Joshua_Sokol: AGIRSTV 1G VIRGAT.S +89 188
>Steven_Dinapoli: FGINQRU L3 FIG +26 204
>Joshua_Sokol: ?ADJLYZ 6F JAY +40 228
#note should've played jazz
>Steven_Dinapoli: IINNQRU 9E QUIN +21 225
#note 9C QUININ. I thought that needed an E on the end.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?DLMOVZ F8 L.V +14 242
#note seemed close between this and V(U)M. I liked not allowing him to play down from the Q, and figured if he hooked LUVS, I would have counterplay. Still, could spell disaster, so perhaps I should be a bit more careful and play VUM. #questionable
>Steven_Dinapoli: EINOPRT 2M .IP +14 239
#note SD: Josh blocked REPOINT and left behind a desolate board in the absence of an S. Q's top choice is 9C RE(QUIN)TO, but that creates a very juicy lane on an otherwise dead board, plus it blows up some of my best tiles. Maybe 2J ON would have been better to open up a lane.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?DEEMOZ J8 .OZED +36 278
>Steven_Dinapoli: ACENORT K10 AN +19 258
#note SD: This is where things unraveled for me. I correctly remembered that CANTORED* is no good, but I wasted way too much time convincing myself of that. I should have spent that time looking for anagrams like CARTONED and NOTECARD. Mistakes like these are the reason my rating hasn't hit 1600 yet.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?CEEEMU 12G CUE. +8 286
#note too bad he didn't give me a spot for ECUMENE. I could also do 3L (FA)ME. #questionable
>Steven_Dinapoli: CEIORTT H11 C.TIE +21 279
#note SD: 4F EROTIC(IS)T! This one I don't feel quite as badly about missing.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?EELMRT 15A TELoMER. +77 363
>Steven_Dinapoli: AIIOORT 2J OI +11 290
#note Great find by Josh to all but lock up the game. Q says I should play B11 OORIE and chase for the last blank, but that will likely just get blocked.
>Joshua_Sokol: BDFHPSU 11C FUBS +25 388
#note anything wins here really, just trying to draw more vowels and block a bit more.
>Steven_Dinapoli: AEINORT F14 O. +4 294
#note Steven can't win here, but this is a good play. Blocks a lot of scoring and retains retain
>Joshua_Sokol: ?ADHNPY 3D DAPHNeY +76 464
>Steven_Dinapoli: AEINRTT 12B TET +15 309
#note wow RE(QUIN)T(O)! DAPHNEY* is phony, I figured as much but still opted to play it.

SD: I absolutely needed to challenge DAPHNEY* off, especially since I had bingos of my own that would have played there. I wasn't going to win regardless, but this easily cost me over 100 spread points. Instead, I threw this down in a panic, and still didn't get it down fast enough to avoid going overtime.
