#note Never feels good to start off the game missing a 5. DHOBI for 26 is the play here, followed by FIB probably, since it's defensive. #findingsmall

#note mishu7 missed C(A)VY here, similar situation to me missing DHOBI. #findingmedium
>axcertypo: AEIMNNR J2 MAN +26 113
#note there isn't really a better play here. I supposed I could do 2B AIRMEN
>mishu7: ?ILRUVW 6I .UV +8 54
#note WU(D) should lead to significantly more bingos. Exchanging down to R? is also an option. #tacticssmall
>axcertypo: AEEEINR 2B AERIE +21 134
#note could go all in and play K5 E(V)E here but it just seemed so anti-thematic.

#note it's probably fine to keep the Q for one turn here with HEN or HENS on 3C. The S isn't unique and is less valuable than usual, so perhaps playing it for 8 is fine, especially since it gives me another shot at drawing an I next turn for 3L QI, or AT for QAT, or a blank. #strategysmall
>mishu7: ?BILORW M2 LI +26 120
#note it makes sense to not want to open the 1L spot with BI, but you have an O, opponent is perhaps a bit more than 3/4 to have one, and the 1A spot already exists, so you're only increasing average score by 5 while retaining a better bingo leave and scoring 4 more yourself. BI is therefore arguably better. #tacticsmedium
>axcertypo: EEHNPSV C1 V.EP +18 163
#note I could once again go with HENS but then I let the FAERIE spot stay for the rest of the game. Medium-sized factor that Quackle doesn't appreciate, since a computer wouldn't fish for a FAERIE word knowing it has the only remaining hook, unless the position was simulated. PEH 3A seemed like a strong candidate, but Mishu has a better than average leave I think, and I don't want to hang that P out there. I prefer to balance my rack more and hope to trade off that way.
>mishu7: ??BNORW D4 imBROWN +78 198
#note in this particular context PEH would have been better, perhaps.

#note fortuity

#note 12D AR(R)OYO leaves much better, but leaves the board in a scary entropic state. Still, it should be better. #findingsmall
>axcertypo: AAAEEST 1A EA.E +29 270
#note I did not look for 5K ASEA, which is quite an interesting option as well. The S is now more valuable than it was, but the E as well. It really helps the T, especially since this is the first T out of the bag with only 39 unseen tiles. The recurring possibilities with the case F for FAERIE are no longer as much on the table here, since the board has opened up and the pool is clunky. Still, this should be a bit better.
>mishu7: EIINOOX 14I OXO +31 259
#note 6B IN(B)OX looks like the play here. Duplicates are not one's friend in this dwindling middlegame. #findingsmall
>axcertypo: AACLRST 13I CAT +30 300
#note CAL would normally be clearly superior to CAT, but with so many unseen T's, I thought better of keeping one on my rack. However, the ARST leave is much better here, and I'm only playing 3 tiles. My chances of duplication are not incredibly high. and CAL is definitely slightly more defensive, giving back fewer hooks on row 15 and not giving back an E hook on column L. #tacticssmall for this one
>mishu7: DEIINTZ 15K DIZEN +52 311
#note I am duly punished for my inaccuracy
>axcertypo: AEFLORS C8 LOAFERS +82 382
#note however, I draw into a bingo that CAL would not have in a twist of fate. Two bingos, actually. I forgot about the anagram, SAFROLE, which plays at L6 for 85. Definitely the right choice. #knowledgesmall #findingsmall
>mishu7: IIINOTT M13 TI. +24 335
>axcertypo: AEGGKMO B10 GEM +27 409
#note MOA in the same spot is very daring. If mishu doesn't then utilize that A12 hotspot I can hit a lot of game-ending blows with the K. However, even though it complicates his position, he is very capable of making a play there and still threatening to win with a bingo. I don't think MOA is actually better than GEM, as I also remain way less prepared to face a bingo setup of his. On the other hand, iif he does not block column A after MOA, I can still go for a play there the turn after if I don't immediately draw one, which is a huge plus. #questionable

#note At first, KO(LO) 8A was my top choice, but when I calculated, it appeared to lose to any bingo on column O that used the P but not the S. If mishu then drew the S as his last tile, he would win by at least 2 after my best response of GAST N1, unless I drew something better. TALIPOT, ANTIPOT and PALETOT are highest-scoring options, and they win if the S is in the bag. So 1/3 times each. But even TOPLINE/POTLINE, POLENTA, PANTILE win. PANTILE only wins by 1, because GOAT E10 scores one more than GAST N1. I saw that I could draw GOAT and that it still would fall just short. At first, KO(LO) 8A was my top choice, but when I calculated, it appeared to lose to any bingo on column O that used the P but not the S. PANTILE only wins by 1, because GOAT E10 scores one more than GAST N1. I saw that I could draw GOAT and that it still would fall just short. I would win if I drew the P, since GASP is a full 8 points better than GAST, since it scores 4 more and also leaves me with 4 fewer deadwood on my rack to give to mishu once he goes out. So KOLO didn't appear to win an overwhelming majority of endgames. Instead, I looked for another two-turn sequence that scored more overall than KOLO+GAST. I found this, and it outruns everything since it saves ASK for 38 at 5K. If mishu blocks that with a play on column L, he doesn't score enough to outrun TASK N1 for 32. If he has something on column N, I will just be able to S-hook it with TASK 8L or just an overlapping play like SKAG. So GO seemed infallible, just barely.

#note failed to find mishu's best endgame plays here. It's better to play this at O8 to block his best options. A11 KETAS is also better but I thought it left me with GT for some reason rather than AG. -7 #endgamemedium
