#player2 Geoff Geoff
>Bill: AABHILR H7 BAH +16 16
#note From the CURE tournament on ISC. Didn't know BHARAL.
>Geoff: IIUUU -IIUUU +0 0
#note Exchange 5, rack unknown.
>Bill: AAFILRT G7 AFAR +25 41
#note I didn't know AFARA, which would've affected my assessment of this play.
>Geoff: ANRTU 11G ARNUT +18 18
#note Didn't know AFARA, but Geoff's only phonied me once in about 40 games so I'm not gonna question it.
>Bill: ILQTVYZ J10 Q.ILT +36 77
#note Interesting choices here. RITZY would leave me with an almost certain exchange rack next turn if the U gets blocked, and for QUILT vs. QUIT I went with the extra 3 points and consonant off the rack, despite the danger of the S hook. Passed on QUIZ to keep the Z because of its high value (although the board isn't currently good for it).
>Geoff: ADGN 13I G.AND +18 36
>Bill: ADFRVYZ I4 DAVY +27 104
#note I think this is the right rack, but I didn't see VARDY, which would of course be very good holding the Z.
>Geoff: EGMOPST 5D POSTG.ME +102 138
>Bill: FLRRSUZ 15F ZURFS +66 170
>Geoff: EIJV M9 JIVE. +24 162
>Bill: CLNORST E4 C.NTROLS +70 240
>Geoff: EELOO 4I .OOLEE +20 182
>Bill: CEIINPT D9 PEINCT +28 268
#note Definitely didn't want to play short here, since there's two blanks unseen and the only really good bingo lane is an S hook, which I don't have. I did seriously consider playing this word at N3 for 12 points because I figured it would cut down on bingo percentage a lot, but Geoff is very good positionally and I feared he'd find a good way to open up again if I did it (plus, after DOOLEE last turn there's no reason to assume his rack has gotten back into shape yet).
>Geoff: EEHRU 13B EU.HRE +24 206
>Bill: AEEIMOO 14D .OEA +28 296
#note Not 100% sure this was the rack. It was definitely a lot of vowels and TOEA was definitely best.
>Geoff: ?ABDISU O4 SUBAcID +89 295
>Bill: EEIIKMO L12 O.IE +14 310
#note Spent awhile on this play. It was between this and 6B IMINO for me, and there were several factors to consider. This keeps a better vowel-consonant balance, knocks out a sort-of good scoring spot (ONYX would be a killer, and I also saw ANEW/ENEW, and there might be others), and doesn't give an extra tile to play eights through. In IMINO's favor, it gets rid of both I's with three more unseen, scores 5 more, and might actually be better against bingos because, though it gives an I to play through, it blocks bingos to/through the E except for those starting at B8. I saw KEENO but didn't really consider it. I guess you could put it next to ONIE and say I'm scoring 15 more and only keeping one extra I, but I also liked keeping the K, which can be a pretty versatile scorer.
>Geoff: EWY 3K WEY +36 331
>Bill: EIKLMNO 2L MOIL +23 333
#note I spent forever vacillating between MOIL, MOKI, and MONK and completely blanked on KNEEL in column B, which is just the kind of play I want.
>Geoff: ADINORT B7 RATION.D +72 403
#note Geoff was thinking after the game he might've wanted to go with ORDINATE. It's a very interesting spot. The sim has AROINTED and RATIONED (72 points each) 1 and 2, and ORDINATE (63) third. If you look at possible bingos I could have, AROINTED allows them on 6 different racks, RATIONED on 4, and ORDINATE on 3. RATIONED allows the biggest non-bingo play (the one I end up playing), and a couple of the advantages of AROINTED vs. ORDINATE (besides scoring 9 more) are that WEEK plays for 55 on ORDINATE and only 47 on AROINTED, and ORDINATE allows EXINE for 64 whereas AROINTED makes it difficult to score huge with the X on the triple due to the position of the I. So it seems you have to live with the extra two or three bingo racks AROINTED allows versus the other two plays and make sure you don't get outrun without a bingo.
>Bill: ?EEIKNX A8 KEX +71 404
>Geoff: GIW K9 WI. +17 420
#note Geoff realized afterwards he should've gone with GIT, which would've won by 1 (ABYEINg wins, but I didn't see it and probably wouldn't have even if I needed to).
>Bill: ?EIN O1 E. +6 410
>Geoff: G - +0 420
>Bill: ?IN N4 .N +4 414
>Geoff: G - +0 420
>Bill: ?I 9G ..I +7 421
#note Missed GIF for a couple more.
>Geoff: G - +0 420
>Bill: ? L2 ...s +18 439
#note POSTGAMES is no good, but it doesn't matter. Geoff didn't notice I played it.
