#player2 Jackson Jackson
>Arie: ADEENTU 8G DUE +8 8
#note Hard to know what to do with opening racks like this. Exchanging the E or EU does great in the sim, however, I don't think that is as good against a 2000 rated opponent who is likely to respond defensively to such an exchange. This is probably okay, at least I weaponize my T with the DUET hook.
>Jackson: ABDN 7F BAND +21 21
>Arie: ADEMNNT J6 MATED +31 39
#note I thought it was worth it to take the points here. This sims about even with NAM 6E for 19.
>Jackson: EKOW K9 WOKE +30 51
>Arie: ANNRRSY L10 NARY +28 67
#note I liked the defensiveness of this position of NARY over other comparable options - if I draw a bingo to NRS I'm still likely to have a place to play it due to multiple hooks. Jackson averages about 33 after this placement of NARY, 36-44 after comparable plays.
>Jackson: EOOYZ K2 ZOOEY +41 92
>Arie: EMNNRRS 11K ..RN +8 75
#note I really liked this play (spent a long time deciding to make it). I feel that I bingo more often if I leave the Os in ZOOEY open, plus I want to create the S hook for myself (though there are 3 Ss and a blank unseen, so it could be risky.) Sim wants me to play NORM/MORN through an O in ZOOEY. I was surprised to see that Quackle has me bingoing more often after NORM/MORN than KARN, though I average more points after KARN. It only sims about 8 points back. I guess I probably should just go for MORN - just wasn't that keen on how things were shaping out and wanted to make something happen.
>Jackson: CEIJT N10 I.JECT +34 126
>Arie: EIMNRSX 15K EXI.S +60 135
#note This could have gone a lot worse.
>Jackson: EHLOT O6 HELOT +26 152
>Arie: EGIMNOR 2K .ING +28 163
#note I saw that I had GERONIMO# here. This play is probably fine - the other thing I could do, which sims about even, is OM O12, scoring only 19 but leaving GEINR while keeping ZOOEY and column 14 open. The leave after ZING is pretty decent so I don't mind just getting the 9 extra points.
>Jackson: AAEELNR M1 A.NEALER +68 220
>Arie: AAEMORR 1L M.AR +37 200
#note Only good scoring play.
>Jackson: AFHIPQS G6 Q..I +15 235
>Arie: AAEFIOR N4 FIAR +27 227
#note The leave isn't very good but I have no other options.
>Jackson: DISV 10D VIDS +27 262
>Arie: ??AEIOO 14E IpOmOEA +59 286
#note This was the only bingo I could see. There are two others - mO(V)IEOlA D8 and zOOEcIA 14E - both of which are clearly better than this. Once I saw one bingo I assumed it was all that I had. What I spent more time considering was forgoing the bingo - unfortunately there were no very good non-bingo options. About the best I could come up with was OOZING, which sets up Jackson to get a lot of points on the triple (and he almost certainly will) after which I hopefully hit some lower scoring bingo on row 3 or through the V. I reasoned that with IpOmOEA I take a small lead - if Jackson gets some scoring play on the newly opened triple and I hit him back with some comparable scoring play on the other triple, I have a slight lead going into the pre-endgame, maybe giving me a 50-50 chance of pulling it out. However, if I just see mOVIEOlA I get 11 more points right now - Jackson will probably score well on his next turn but I'm definitely a favorite. I wish I had seen mOVIEOlA.
>Jackson: GHOTU 15A OUGHT +41 303
>Arie: BGILOPR H11 BLI.P +27 313
#note This is fine - something like BOP 13G gives back too much.
>Jackson: EFTW 13B WEFT +23 326
>Arie: GIOPRTU 12A TOPI +33 346
#note This is #2 on Championship player's list of options, winning about 76% of the time. The bizarre top choice is TI 12C (wins 1% more according to CP.) I guess I do better in a slow-play type endgame if I at least threaten PIG 13G and force Jackson to spend a turn blocking it. I get a lot of points with TOPI but set up the T and often don't threaten anything much.
>Jackson: ACELNSS A7 ASCEN. +24 350
#note Jackson would do better by going out slowly here. By blocking ULU 12G with BA 11H he can assure that I am stuck with at least one U and play his tiles at his leisure, ultimately winning by 19.
>Arie: GRUUV E9 V.G +14 360
#note Technically it's better to play VUG B5 - I threaten to go out with CRU 9A, which prevents Jackson from playing his tiles one at a time to maximize his score with HELOTS.
>Jackson: LS 13G L.S +11 361
>Jackson: (RUU) +6 367
