#player2 Matthew_Larocque Matthew Larocque
>Peter_Sargious: UUUUV -UUUUV +0 0
>Matthew_Larocque: ?AEEOOV 8H OVA +12 12
#note The difference between AEO? and EEO? seemed small enough that I was willing to play OVA for defense. Exchanging is also worth thinking about, but still, I feel like OVA hurts his scoring a lot.
>Peter_Sargious: ABIN G6 BANI +15 15
>Matthew_Larocque: ?EEEILO 6F O.ELI +11 23
#note Maybe I ought to simply fish off OE? I didn't want to risk having the same problem next turn, though.
>Peter_Sargious: IKNT 5J KNIT +22 37
>Matthew_Larocque: ?EENRSW M2 bES.REWN +74 97
#note Sometimes the simplest plays are best, the sevens at 4D score 77 and take out the S-hook.
>Peter_Sargious: UZ 8M .UZ +45 82
>Matthew_Larocque: AHLRSUY 4L A.HY +32 129
#note 5B HURLY? Honestly, I played this instantly. I wanted to keep the momentum going. Sometimes I overthink positions and sacrifice points when I don't particularly need to.
>Peter_Sargious: ELV O1 LEV. +30 112
>Matthew_Larocque: LRRSTUX 3J LUR. +7 136
#note The U may not be the best vowel, but when it's the only vowel you have, you should still keep it. Plus, this doesn't even score anything. I tried to justify it because it blocks KI, which I could have done already with my bingo. 7L REX partially blocks NOVAE, and even gives me a chance to bingo again using KI.
>Peter_Sargious: JO H4 JO. +18 130
>Matthew_Larocque: EEIRSTX L9 EXISTER +82 218
>Matthew_Larocque: EEIRSTX -- -82 136
#note This is so weird. I was 100% sure that either *EXISTER or *EXITERS was a word. I knew for sure that *REEXITS wasn't it. I must have been thinking of EXCITERS.
>Peter_Sargious: FM 7L F.M +12 142
>Matthew_Larocque: EEIRSTX K8 EXITERS +86 222
#note Peter actually thought this was good too! He even lamented the fact that he missed it/didn't block it.
>Peter_Sargious: ?CDEERT 12G sECR.TED +72 214
#note The anagram scores 76!
>Matthew_Larocque: AEIIPTT J10 PA. +23 245
#note A bunch of plays keeping the P sim a little better, notably J10 TERAI which I didn't see. PAR seemed good enough, and it sneakily sets up PART plays next turn.
>Peter_Sargious: Q 9F Q. +11 225
>Matthew_Larocque: AEIIRTT 13J T.ITE +25 270
#note I didn't want to play short and try to bingo - it seemed too risky. Both rows 11 and 14 can be taken out by him with one play. 10E AI sets up my R and increases the chance the S stays open, but the leave isn't what I'd call a home run. It felt more like a path to losing than a path to winning.
>Peter_Sargious: CDO N10 CO..D +30 255
>Matthew_Larocque: AAIIIRW 10E AI +17 287
#note Now that the S is blocked, I was okay playing this to kill the other dangerous spot.
>Peter_Sargious: BINOR D8 BIRON +23 278
#note I'm so bad for letting phony fives go... I wanted to challenge this right away too. However, it actually kind of helps me in a way. He used up the only other R, and the B is hard to use for a bingo. If I challenge it off, I have to kill the RAI hook myself, and I didn't have a great set of options to do that. Then, he still has a decent play of ROB/TRITER. Meh.
>Matthew_Larocque: AIINORW O13 RAI +18 305
#note I wanted to keep the W to help my scoring power in the next few turns. Quackle does not agree. I can't imagine keeping AIIN or IIONR and hoping to score next turn, though.
>Peter_Sargious: FOPU C11 POUF +24 302
>Matthew_Larocque: AILMNOW B13 MOW +30 335
#note I missed E10 AWOL 33. 14A INFLOW scores 40 and forks the TWS squares. I'd need to draw an E or O, though to play under the W next turn.
>Peter_Sargious: AEGGGSS C7 GAG +18 320
#note His actual rack! Wow. Sim likes H12 EGGS. He needs a miracle draw like GALENAS, or whatever possible bingos there are down the side that I can't be bothered to look up.
>Matthew_Larocque: AAEHILN A8 INHALE +35 370
>Peter_Sargious: EGNOSSU 11C ..SSE +31 351
#note He had like a minute or so of time left. 15A OWSE leave him with outs at 5C or H11.
>Matthew_Larocque: ADDETY 5B TEDDY +25 395
#note I missed PARTY plays, and I sure didn't know POSSET which allows me to play TEDDY for 38!
>Peter_Sargious: GNOU 4A GUN +10 361
#note UNGOT
>Matthew_Larocque: A 15A A. +15 410
>Matthew_Larocque: (O) +2 412
#note Peter was underscored by 4. I won the best-of-3, but the pairings dictated round 4!
