Its benefits are:

1) blocking a lot more bingos
2) lowering opponent's score, which makes it even in that sense with QUAERE despite score difference
3) lowering standard deviation by a value of 3
4) actually increasing score and bingo chances next turn ever so slightly, despite using the S, which comes as most shocking.

Worst aspect is having Deldar play from A1.

EQUES appears to be the best play. Nigel at it again!
