#player2 Joe_Petree Joe Petree
>Samuel_Kaplan: DELMORS 8D MOLDERS +76 76
#note This over SMOLDER so that he might miss the SMOLDERS hook. SMOLD* is not good though.
>Joe_Petree: DKUY J6 DU.KY +25 25
>Samuel_Kaplan: AAGINRR 10F ARRA.ING +64 140
#note MARGARIN is better for 10 more. This play is 2nd. Off to a good start against the top seed so far, this is definitely the kind of start I need.
>Joe_Petree: FHO K5 FOH +26 51
>Samuel_Kaplan: IILMQRY 9C QI +25 165
#note No question. Best play.
>Joe_Petree: IO 10B OI +15 66
>Samuel_Kaplan: IILMORY A8 RIMY +32 197
#note Joe took a long time to play OI so he definitely had a nice leave. This is a close 2nd behind LIMY in the same spot. I wasn't leaving Column A open after his fish.
>Joe_Petree: ?AEISTW M7 WAg.IEST +80 146
#note DANG IT! This is not good. WASTErI(E) H1 is best for him.
>Samuel_Kaplan: IJLORTT 12H JOLTI.R +44 241
#note 4th best. Luckily he decided to open the bottom up.
>Joe_Petree: HNO H12 .OHN +42 188
>Samuel_Kaplan: CGPSTTZ 8L Z.PS +75 316
#note What Joe said after the game about this play was hilarious but true. He goes "A third grader could have made this play. I don't care if you're keeping FFFF". LMAO this play is best.
>Joe_Petree: ABEELNP O1 PLEBEAN. +95 283
#note Ugh. I gotta trust my gut better than I do sometimes. This game should not have been this close at this point, although in all fairness WAGGIEST* did give me ZAPS. Some phonies look so plausible, dang it!
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACEGITT L4 GAT +17 333
#note 6th best. CATTIE 14J is much better.
>Joe_Petree: CD 13G C.D +16 299
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACEIITX M3 TIX +36 369
#note Best play!
>Joe_Petree: ?DEEIOU - +0 299
#note Exchange 3
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACEEIUW 14H .EW +21 390
#note Nope. AWEE would have prevented his next play although he still had so many bingoes with his next rack.
>Joe_Petree: ?ENORST H1 oESTRON. +74 373
>Samuel_Kaplan: ACEFIIU 4C FAUCE. +22 412
#note FAUCES for 2 more. This is 2nd best. This remaining pool is starting to get ugly. Glad I saw this.
>Joe_Petree: AEGN 5B GAEN +21 394
#note He missed GEAN 3B for 3 more.
>Samuel_Kaplan: EEIIOOU 14L E.UI +8 420
#note Gross draw. The remaining pool isn't any better. Just had to pray to get any of the 7 remaining consonants. This play is best.
>Joe_Petree: ABDEETV N6 BA. +29 423
>Samuel_Kaplan: AEIOOVV 11D VOE +14 434
#note I did not see any way I could go out in 2 besides VOE and then AVION D4. This endgame was very interesting. This play, while Joe can block my only out of AVION, can give me something that can block any of his potential outs. VOLVA F6 is nice but I can't go out anywhere with EIO.
>Joe_Petree: DEELNTU D11 .END +16 439
#note I didn't see any bingoes for Joe. Turns out UNDELETE would have won the game for him. He did block AVION, but I got something back.
>Samuel_Kaplan: AIOV 14A VOI. +16 450
#note Best play. This gives me the best hope.
>Joe_Petree: ELTU 2H .LUTE +7 446
#note TULE would have won the game for him. Whew. Cannot believe I actually won this game. Reasonably optimal endgame play on my part after him missing UNDELETE helped me out.
Like I said earlier, it shouldn't have been this close with the 2 phony bingoes I allowed. That's just gross. I am in a prime position to win the tourney tho as David Engelhardt also had 5 wins but a better spread.
