#note Dells Spells Southern Edition (WGPO) 2019 Game 5 vs. Geoff Thevenot.
>Geoff: AFOY G6 OFAY +33 33
>Bill: ?EELORS I3 SOLEREt +84 128
>Geoff: IQ J2 QI +33 66
>Bill: AENOTUW 2J .UOTA +28 156
#note J5 ANEW is 34 and doesn't give up big scores on the triple, so I'd probably go with that if I'd seen it. I don't really mind rolling the dice here with a fairly big lead, though - if he doesn't take the spot I'll almost certainly be able to hit it with the W, which is good insurance if he bingos. In fact, I'm not so sure I don't still like this over ANEW.
>Geoff: BDII 1L BIDI +42 108
>Bill: ADEINRW 3L WADI +35 191
#note This is fine, though I'm still not seenig the parallel plays on the J column - DEWAN/DEWANI/DEWAR all score 41 or 42. I should at least be finding and considering them.
>Geoff: GLMO F3 GLOM +27 135
>Bill: CEENRUV O3 .NCURVE +39 230
>Geoff: HRT 5C THR. +14 149
>Bill: EFIITXY 6B XI +27 257
#note Great, now it's time to miss MOPEY plays in the J column.
>Geoff: RS L1 ...RS +20 169
>Bill: EFIOSTY N6 YO +28 285
#note Thank you Quackle, I know I am hemorrhaging points by missing MOPEY.
>Geoff: ?ADEGSV M7 ViSAGED +92 261
#note And it's a game again, dammit.
>Bill: EFIOSTU F8 FOU +20 305
#note Passed on L12 FOU, but I think I must have missed L11 UFO.
>Geoff: IO N10 IO +11 272
>Bill: EEIIMST L11 EMIT +27 332
#note Well, that's a pretty horrible miss. Dear god.
>Geoff: INZ 7C ZIN +44 316
>Bill: EILLNSW O11 SWELL +41 373
#note (Missed ITEMISE last turn, for anyone who's as terrible at Scrabble as me.) Tough call between scoring and fishing. It's good that I can both fish and block since I have exclusive use of the EMITS hook, but if I take out row 11, there are still multiple bingo lanes that he could use (J column, K column hooking REGO, from the I, to the T) which are all not great but I can't block all of them. In the end I went with scoring, and it mostly came down to feel. Kept the case I with five E's unseen (even so I didn't want to, I hate I's so much).
>Geoff: ANPU 3C PUN.A +18 334
>Bill: BCEHINO E9 HOB +27 400
>Geoff: AEENRTT J8 RATTEEN +70 404
>Bill: ACDEINT D11 ANTIC +24 424
#note Taking ED first is slightly better, but I feel more comfortable knowing I don't have to think about anything next turn.
>Geoff: AEEGKN D1 KA.G. +36 440
>Bill: DE J5 ED +24 448
#note It wasn't pretty, but I got the job done.
>Bill: (EEN) +6 454
