#note glad I remembered VALANCE taking a D and VALENCE only taking an S. However, I didn't remember VALENCY, which is definitely the play, as although it doesn't double a letter already on my rack, making 8-letter words less likely, it takes no hook, making 7-letter words completely unplayable. Not only that, but VALENCE takes the 3-letter PRE(VALENCE) extension, whereas VALENCY does not. TRIVALENCE is also a word, but neither Bryn nor I knew of it. #knowledgesmall

#note this gets rid of my best tile, the S, but also gets rid of the huge spot BOOK created, as well as scoring as much as possible. The Z will now because an extremely valuable counterattacking tile, and I will attempt to centre my next few moves around that, if a great option doesn't come around instantly. R(e)Z for 22 is also a good option here, hoping that I will be the one to hit the spot at H1. Otherwise, my S loses its hooking value on BOOK and becomes less of an impressive tile as a whole.

#note There were an incredible amount of great options here. One that attempted to set up my J (3E REZ), hoping primarily for a nice play at I3 next turn, or a big play on row 1 if Bryn plays on row 2. One that kept my Z (3C JERID) hoping for a smashing option next turn or the turn after as planned by RH(O)S. One that kept my Z set up at G3 (K3 J(E)RID). J4 (W)IZ was also nice, which prepares a fish with my J next turn keeping a great leave. In the end I chose to get rid of the J and the Z at once, shooting for a bingo myself, either through the E in VALeNCE or elsewhere. Quackle prefers playing one lower, to prevent easy stuff Bryn can have with the J. I liked the opportunity of D(J)INN next turn, but when I hit the clock, realized that forking the board with D(J)INN was quite undesirable actually, despite scoring very well. #questionable
