#note definitely a turn for defense, it's hard for him to play without opening something up for me. GULF and FRUGAL are less defensive than this but keep the Z and better scoring options, especially if he opens something up for me (however I don't expect him to do that like speedy will, so FEZ is even more better than it is here in the sim). he averages 24 after FEZ and 34 after FRUGAL and 30 after GULF, in the high 30s/early 40s after stuff like GLAZE, MAZER, GAZER. this seems fine

#note took some time here to remind myself that it was VEXILLAE* that I played on Michael Fagen so many years ago as an intentional phony

#note damnn MAGLEV is the play!
>sokol: ACDENPT 6I PANDECT +78 160
>smylie: AEGLMRV L1 GRAVE. +26 86
#note damn totally missed the 8 row spot - I saw the word MARVEL which is at least an improvement over this. MAGLEV in either spot is also okay, but of course 8j MAGLEV is the play. I like GRAVED over VARLET or GAVEL cause it was some sort of balance where I keep the board really open and keep a decent leave - VARLET lets him block the board too easily and keeps the never-bingoing GM. GAVEL felt like it took away all the left side opportunity, and I'd rather leave that open. in a sim GRAVED bingoes almost as much as GAVEL but gives back more. terrible miss

#note Josh did this to take out the two 3x3s cause his position is really good. he can be more aggressive with BITTEN to outscore or BEEP to just go ham. I def don't like BEEP (or PIBAL, by that logic). he also blocks some 8s through GRA so it looks pretty good. not sure what I'd do between BITTEN and NIBLET, looks close
Jackson said what I was supposed to say and more. This turn took a while. GRAVE(D) is the type of play Jackson could make with U? or G? or something.

#note don't think this was my rack. Maybe had a U
>smylie: GIILOTW 2F WIT +20 139
#note disgusting but I can't do stuff like WIGLET cause I gotta keep the board open. an N would really bail this rack out
>sokol: AHIOSTU E2 THOU +21 240
#note I must score more and outrun bingos more. Maybe.
>smylie: FGILNOO 2J FO. +29 168

#note way too scared to play anything else. So many plays are so nice and aggro.
>smylie: AAGILNO 12B AGIO +23 191
#note didn't like AGO cause he can score a ton while blocking, I did like ANGLO quite a bit just cause it essentially forks cause it's hard to block the A column and 13 row at the same time (actually wins a sim! but maybe because speedy doesn't always block the 3x3 but Josh does). this actually gives back more than AGON though, which is interesting (I guess still lets some 13 row 4s and also b10 plays). ANGLO is maybe better than I expected, I figured I had to bingo twice so I wanted to keep that option open as best as possible.

#note 8J DAUTIE was interesting to leave myself with nice K for scoring. But it creates better laneage*
>smylie: ABGLNRY B10 GL.RY +26 217
#note didn't see M2 BY, but I worried things get blocked too much. I liked GLARY cause it opens a sneaky lane and keeps the B for JOB bingoes. Q still prefers BY but it's hard to say. I have a couple lanes still open like the B column and N column, but Josh's defense makes me like GLARY a bit more
>sokol: ADESTUY B1 YU. +20 334
#note getting a blank is so much more important than keeping a measly ADEST leave that only bingoes 50% of the time according to expert analysis. Also I didn't realize how close the scores were(?) and regretted not playing AY M2. 13E YAUD was also briefly considered. I like that now. A lot. #questionable
>smylie: ABENORT 13D REBOANT +74 291
#note not BARONET cause I don't want to let him outrun with H plays at 14J and also cause BARONET lets him be way more defensive cause of the S hook and cause of the ET in BARONET that lets him do a 3 or 4 tile play that blocks the board. REBOANT looks more defensive but it keeps more space open on the bottom right and makes it harder for him to effectively block.
>sokol: ADEOSST 14D TSADE +34 368
#note 4B STO(O)D accomplishes more I guess since it gets rid of biggest bingo lane, but Quackle likes this best because mmm try reopening that board biatch. But STOOD because I can play preciser defense than Quackle imagines. #questionable
>smylie: ??ACEOS A4 CElOSiA +83 374
#note a good example of where lack of focus will fuck you up. I just slapped this down without really putting any thought into it, but didn't check the bag for how many tiles were left. knowing 6 in the bag would very likely change my play to S(Y)CE or O(Y)ES. going up by 6 drawing 6 tiles, it's very likely he'll be able to do an out in two that wins. I could still win if I draw SH and other good tiles and he gets the OOOU tiles, but still it's very optimistic. I think the 3 tile plays at 1A are far better, they make him have to play 2 tiles to either block the A column or two tiles to try and outscore, and then I can either bingo immediately if it scores enough, or even better, I can actually play one tile at J13 or something that opens a lane that he cannot block while scoring well. this would likely work out like that had I played SYCE. OYES is better in the sense that it hits bigger A4 bingoes, but I expect he'll be blocking those anyway since it's a high scoring lane.
>sokol: ENNOOOS 8J NOON +12 380
#note crazy I drew DHURRA as an out! this is one of four wins, and his best win
Josh: I keep doing this thing in endgames where I'm like hmm where can he go and then I just switch focus and say hmmm how can I go out in two. I need to focus as well, because I was very close to missing DHURRA. Luckily I saw it after like 3 minutes. Ggs Jacksawn
