#note or fish with EF or semi-fish with FEM or just do one of those things and consider this turn solved
>smylie: ?AIMSTW 5B WArTIM.S +74 74
#note this and WOMANIST are the only two 8s in this rack
>sokol: ACEOOQS G3 CO.AE +25 53
#note this scores just enough to be better than exchanging the Q or dumping it for 12
>smylie: AAEINTU D3 AU.A +6 80
#note or UNAI I7 which I missed. that's more the type of play I'd make with a lead, although I'm not up by so much. AUrA is a lot more defensive. Q prefers UNAI, surprisingly
>sokol: LOOQSVY -FNPQR +0 53
#note changed QOOVY keeping LS
Quackle preferrs just the S, followed by LSY! interesting #questionable
>smylie: EEINRTW 4A WE +14 94
#note I quesitoned this play when Jackson made it. Seems he stiill hasn't questioned it. 3C W(A)E sims two points higher than this, and 7C WE, which is quite weird and I don't like, sims a point higher. Where u at Jackson?
>sokol: LLNOOPS A1 PLO. +27 80
>smylie: EINNORT C5 .NOINTER +62 156
#note seems weird to open a big S hook like this, but TERNION also opens a big s hook and lets him score a lot more and bingo more (since the tiles are more central, ans so 8s can play through these tiles in almost any position of the word)

>smylie: ACDNNTV 8A CN.DA +32 188
>sokol: ADEIKRR 8J DARKIE +41 191
#note I was considering this with DAIKER in the same spot, and 10J KEIR which is a tad more aggressive and keeps a better leave. But 10J KARRII is also a viable option that I didn't see, since the S is already really powerful on this board. I think this is the play though. #questionable
>smylie: EENOPTV 12A PE.V +24 212
#note yeah looks like a bit too much paranoia with PERV here - PERVO scores 2 more, ENOT is worse than ENT for bingoing and scoring (I average 6 more after PERVO and bingo 7% more). ENOT also doesn't work as well cause of the open E, though the I is okay if a bit vowel heavy. He also has a close to random rack so I shouldn't be so worried about double doubles, and I'm also barely ahead so I can't be super defensive yet. I think I undervalued the difference between the leaves in this position, especially cause I didn't think there would be such a diff in bingo chances.
>sokol: BORSTXY E11 BOXY +42 233
#note definitely glad I chose this over A12 (P)OXY for 6 more. The B is just a huge impediment here, since it doesn't help my leave and the board. It's time to race for a bing here, and BRST is not the leave to keep.
>smylie: DELNOTT M8 .NOTTED +26 238
#note terrible miss of LENT(AN)DO. I would have probably missed that as a bingo right now. KNOTTED sims better than PLOT. PLOT bingoes quite a bit more and KNOTTED raises his average by a bit, but just not by quite enough to justify an 8 point sacrifice.
>sokol: ?HIRSTV 13H THRIV.rS +67 300
#note weird choice here between thiis one and the one on column O. I figured that it was going to be very hard to play hard defense for the rest of the game, consiering that he would almost definitely win if he hit a bingo and I was sacrificing points to stop him from doing that. The P in PLOW is really hard to deal with, otherwise this board would be easier to control. Quackle prefers the other THRIVERS and now, come to think of it, I think I do too. At least I'm removing one of the big lanes on the board. This THRIVERS is much better at outrunning Jackson though, since it opens nice scoring spots on the triple. #questionable
>smylie: EFLORTU A12 .OUF +27 265
#note didn't see TO(P)FUL but I would have still played POUF to keep a more bingo heavy leave. I saw F(AR) and F(AR)O but FAR didn't bingo enough, and I figured POUF was a slightly better version of FARO (I indeed bingo more). would have been nice to at least consider and discard TOPFUL. as much as it's tempting to be happy that strategic intuition led me to be blind to plays and led me to what I believe is the best play (POUF), there are many other situations wehre strategic blindness results in blindness of the best play. this is why it's worthwhile to still see this position as a problem
>sokol: BDGIJOS 10L G.JI +28 328
#note Yeah ugh this was difficult. On the one hand JOB C1 just looks like the play. Creates a big spot but blocks the likelier lane, and scores better than GOJI. But I got worried about him fishing for JEZAIL or having it. That's not really enough for him to win though, so I shouldn't have worried #tacticssmall
>smylie: EELLRRT 14D L.E +8 273
#note sad that he blocked RET(E)LLER(S), which I also thought might draw a challenge. this hits the P with AE, AI, and IO. It might be worthwhile to take a more general approach to bingoing though, something like L9A)R 3C or L(Y)RE. The former is nice because it makes the P very hard to block while scoring, and so an O column bingo could win the game for me. LYRE has the advantage of likely hitting the O column more often cause I don't keep a triplicate E. LYE hits the bottom with AE, AI, AO, SU. this probably isn't enough to justify taking such a particular line (I bingo more in a sim after LYRE and LEHR). the only advantage of this is it creates a third lane so that if I don't hit next turn, I have another option ready to go. that is a real advantage, but with something like L(A)R I can still reopen next turn with a play like LYE, but I preserve better immediate bingo chances. I think LAR is the play of LYRE as well, since if I'm not opening at 14d this turn I want to at least not block the spot like LYRE does, so that next turn I can make a LYE-like play. bad oversight here. I have a tendency to take too particular a line when I'm down, one that works well with a particular draw or set of draws I see, but still fails generally since it does well in many situations I haven't exactly permuted. L(A)R just feels far more standard here cause of the leave, and that is what I did not properly respect.
>sokol: BDEIOSZ C1 BIZ +50 378
#note great draw. Seemed like he was pulling for the Q, perhaps even trying to something big like PRATIQUE and stuff on column O.
