#player2 JD JD
>James_Curley: AEKMRST 8D MARKETS +82 82
#note I tried to think of MARKETS extensions in-game, but got 0 of the 4. Can you think of them?
>JD: AFGHQUU E4 QUAH.UG +40 40
>JD: ADEFGIT (challenge) +5 45
#note per Q my win percentage is already in the 20s, so it seemed reasonable to set up this highly volatile spot rather than making the safe placement.
>James_Curley: OZ J8 .OZ +32 114
#note the extensions to MARKETS are NEWMARKETS, NONMARKETS, PREMARKETS and SUBMARKETS!
>JD: ADEFGIT K9 FAG +30 75
#note a mistake - I need to flip more tiles hunting for an S. This also closes the bottom-right of the board instead of keeping it open.
>James_Curley: ILRV F3 VIRL +26 140
>JD: DEEHITW 10B WEI.H +28 103
#note he just blocked WITHER at F3 for 51. I can play WEIGHT or WEIGHED here also to maximize chances of drawing an S, but I didn't like blocking the E on column H, and I thought there was some chance that the AWEIGH hook could slip James' mind. The board would be much nicer right now had I played FADGE previously.
>James_Curley: FOST 11E SOFT +61 201
>JD: ADDERTV H2 ADVERT.D +67 170
>JD: AEEIIOO (challenge) +5 175
>James_Curley: ELLTU H11 .ULLE +18 219
>JD: AEEIIOO -AEIIOO +0 175
#note the question is whether to keep an A on the exchange for the AWEIGH hook. Wtih 4 more As en route, I decided not to, but Q thinks this is a 2-point error. There are also 6 more Es, so holding an E isn't so essential.
>James_Curley: EJORSST 15C RESOJ.TS +66 285
>JD: EEINOUY 13H .UNYIE +20 195
>JD: BEEMNOT (challenge) +5 200
#note opens up the bottom-right quadrant, hunts for a blank, doesn't block AWEIGH. Q wants me to play UEY at 9A, but that's the exact opposite of what I have to do tactically!
>James_Curley: COY 9A COY +26 311
>JD: BEEMNOT 14D MOB +29 229
#note tough one. Q likes MOBE at 12L putting the E in the triple-triple lane, which would be more of a decoy - distract James and try to draw a -TIC bingo, or a triple-triple on the left if I'm really lucky. Or perhaps MOB at 12L setting up an E hook?
>James_Curley: OW 12L OW +19 330
>JD: AEEIINT A5 ENIA. +21 250
#note creating a lane of sorts on column B
>James_Curley: ?DILNOO 4H .INDaLOO +74 404
#note EIDOLON at B1 prevents him from opening a triple-triple
>JD: AEIIIRT 6H .ETIARII +62 312
>James_Curley: ABNT O3 B.N.TA +24 428
>JD: ?AAEEPX 2H .A +2 314
#note I'm really going for EXPANSE at N8, which would be 109 points! I'm down enough that it can only win if James takes the bait on row 1 and empties the bag. What I liked about this play is that I also make up a ton of spread if I draw C or D, assuming he blocks row 1 (CAPEXES and EXAPTED fit on column B). However, it might be a better winning shot for me to play AKE at G7 for 16 and fish for an EN draw, because then I'm down 100 and James is quite likely to block column B - and any play he makes will empty the bag. Drawing an N is 2/10 whereas EN draw is 4/45.
>James_Curley: N I1 N. +2 430
>JD: ?AEEPPX 10J ..P +14 328
#note why not
>James_Curley: CDEEGIN B2 DICE +16 446
#note if he goes ahead and plays this and I actually have EXPANSE, then he would still win by 1 point!! This is why AKE might have been right, even though it's worse on spread.
>JD: ?AEEPRX A1 RAX +42 370
#note out of time, forgot he was going out.
>James_Curley: EGN 11A GEN +16 462
>James_Curley: (EEP?) +10 472
