>Sid: EOPTUWX 8G XU +18 18
#note I might upload games from time to time, but I'd prefer they be untagged. As for this game, it's a loss where I believe I played very poorly in a tournament that I overall played well (for me) and hit a peak rating. This opener is a rare one where some choices are legitimately close, but I prefer XU still.
>Eric: DIIIRRS 9E IRIS +17 17
#note Actual rack.
>Sid: EENOPTW 8D WO +11 29
#note This absolutely ridiculous looking play does have some value. I pretty much saw all the options, but chicked out on TWEEP after 4 minutes of thinking. TWEEP is much, much better, but I do think WO is better than the other options- since nothing besides TWEEP really scores. There's no guarantee he has a T, I do, and with or without a T on his rack, he only averages 24 points. However, TWEEP is a must-play and this is a large error.
>Eric: DFFHIRY H7 R..HY +11 28
#note Leaving off the Y makes a lot of sense.
>Sid: BEENOPT 7C NOPE +17 46
#note TEENYBOP! I did not even look for bingoes on this turn, or check after the game. Regardless of how incapable I am of knowing or finding that, I'm still a freaking luckbox for drawing an available play like that. As for NOPE, it's very unorthodox- "standard" nonbingo here would be BOP for 27 or maybe something else. Eric was having a very ugly tournament and was getting very unlucky, so I thought he might autopilot his moves, therefore making me want to play more "experimental" and maybe try to outmaneuver him if I can. Even among the non-bingoes, this looks insane, but my thinking was to save the BRUSHY hook and limit his scoring and not give an S hook with BOP 7c or TOPE 7c, and if he plays at 6b and I don't draw a bingo then I can counter with a 3 tile play at 6f and seal the board shut. I don't think trying to be overly cute is a good strategy, so let's just say this is both a strategic and word mistake. (I despise hashtags).

>Eric: CEINOTZ B13 CON +37 143
>Sid: ?AAEIJS A9 AJIES +21 140
#note Let's put aside the fact that JS? is an absolutely insane draw. This is one of the most interesting turns in the game. I considered (H)AJ, 10a AJI, and my (again) ridiculous looking play. I inferred an S as a more likely than average tile for Eric all the way back from turn 1, so I assumed he must have kept it or drew one. So I decided to leave the board deadlocked and see what he would do while I left A?. Hilariously, this is only interesting because of AJI vs. HAJ or maybe HAJI. It's not even about my wretched choice going "too far", just that I have to stop making plays that completely suck.
>Eric: EINTTVZ C3 INV..T +24 167
>Sid: ?AEGHIL 4C .ArGILEH +74 214
#note I didn't know the anagram to this, NARGHILE, a much better play. It just has never come up on a board and I haven't studied it. This is a huge mistake positionally.
>Eric: EEQTUWZ 3A QU.Z +33 200
>Sid: AIILNRS 5I LAIN +15 229
#note This is actually a defensible play, but I completely bailed out his rack :(. I deserved this for getting lucky and playing very badly this game, and Eric deserved it too for having a nightmare tournament and taking it in stride with a positive attitude.
>Eric: EEEINTW 3I TWEENIE +85 285
>Sid: DDINRST - +0 229
#note I knew TWEENIES from a past game, but I challenged just in case it was just TWEENY. Studying TWEENIE may be a good idea in 5 years when I feel like it. Anyways, I overestimated how gross this position was if I did not challenge. TR(E)ND still gives me a 25% chance, which is actually a fair chance. But now it's 0.

#note When will my name be called for my Bad Endgame MVP trophy?
>Eric: DELMNOR 13I REMOD.L +22 444
#note Again, a well deserved win for Eric.
