>Nigel_Peltier: IQ 7H QI +25 107
>Ken: AAEOSTT 7B TAO +10 83
#note This was a bad play. E4 OAT for 18 points clearly better
>Nigel_Peltier: ?ACEPRS - +0 107
>Ken: AEEISTU E3 UTE +21 104
#note Another bad play. E3 EAU for 21 points is best. For whatever reason, I often miss EAU
>Nigel_Peltier: ?EINTUU B1 aUTUNI.E +68 175
>Ken: ADEIRSV 10B ADVISER +83 187
#note I didn't want to play A8 ADVISER for 92 points and leave a potential S hook on the 15 line for a zillion points. Not only does 10B ADVISER still score 83 points, but it blocks the huge triple opening on the A line.

>Nigel_Peltier: AEOPTV 13G OVE.APT +28 266
>Ken: BEJLNOS 15I B.NJOES +72 295
#note This was a big play. I wonder what went into Nigel's thought process with OVERAPT on the previous turn.
>Nigel_Peltier: OW A8 WO +30 296
>Ken: ALLNNRY 12C RALLY +21 316
#note I think I got caught up here trying to play defensive, which is problematic for two reasons: 1) there is nothing I can do in the left lower quadrant that will block the board because there is a giant opening on the O line playing down to the S; 2) the score is too close to worry about blocking. Quackle says 6A LINY (ALNR) for 19 points is best which makes sense because the strong leave increases the chance that I will bingo on an upcoming turn, which I might need to if Nigel hits a bingo on his next turn. This is a real concern because he has had a few turns to build his rack.

>Ken: DEGNNOS 14A NOG +20 378
>Nigel_Peltier: FOU K9 FOU +23 359
>Ken: DEIILNS L3 LINDIES +74 452
#note I realized that L3 LINDIES would empty the bag and that if Nigel bingoed back I would lose. Without trying to identify all the possible bingos, I hoped that there were enough high-powered tiles in the bag (and only three vowels) that there was a reasonable chance that Nigel would not have a bingo, or that he wouldn't find the bingo due to some combination of the obscurity of the word and time pressure. I also liked that emptying the bag was the cleanest path. There might be a great play I cannot find that doesn't empty the bag, but that puts me under pressure to play a great end-game. I decided I'd rather not get into cat and mouse with Nigel, especially with a narrow lead and high-powered tiles left in the bag.
