#title 2019 NSC Round 15
#description Matt Canik plays Will Anderson in Round 15 at the 2019 NSC
>Matt: AHHOPVZ H7 ZAP +28 28
>Will: EELMNOS 8E MEL.NOSE +61 61
#note Not very nice of me, but my phony count was flagging behind 2017 levels and it seemed a good opportunity...I was aware of MELANOSES, but for some reason I failed to find a couple nice plays with it later on.
>Matt: AEGHHOV I6 GA.EV +28 56
>Will: EGIILNS 9F LI.. +12 73
#note I counted SLIMING as 36 somehow instead of 40, and the difference between SLIMING and LIPE is about 4 points of equity. #strategysmall
>Matt: ?EHHIOW K5 WHI.HEd +60 116
>Will: AEGINSS 7E AG +11 84
#note Fishing to SINGE gives me a little bit more bingo% than AG; Quackle wants me to do 11I SAD. The interesting thing about that is whether Matt knows to block MELANOSES afterwards; he might think it's an adjective with no hooks and block elsewhere. I think he'll try to block column L after SAD whenever it makes sense for him to, though, just because he might not be sure and the rest of the board is awful, so I'm not positive I prefer SAD to AG.
>Matt: BEJOOOT L3 OBOE +22 138
>Will: AEINOSS 10I .O. +8 92
#note Drat. NOESIS scores 45, and playing parallel to OBOE on column M with any number of things retainng one S is just far better than fishing just an O. Might've been a bit tilted drawing my third consecutive unplayable CSW bingo - but the disappointing thing is that in this particular case, I might've been more apt to find NOESIS since I already had ANOESIS# in my mind. #visionlarge #strategylarge
>Matt: EIJORTY 6B JOEY +38 176
>Will: AEINQSS M2 QI +26 118
#note Q draw to add insult to injury.
>Matt: DILPRTU 10C TURD +19 195
>Will: AAENRSS M6 NA +9 127
#note Needing the extra line (column N) badly; it's annoying to block and gives good counterplay to the triple a lot when I hit it, so maybe he'll just ignore it.
>Matt: EFILNPV N1 FIL +37 232
>Will: AERSSUX D1 XERUS.S +48 175
#note Truly hated giving up both esses, but felt I needed the space in the upper left quadrant...I could've done O1 ASSURE for 52, hoping for an X bomb underneath JOEY to follow up, or just fish my X there and try to hit ASSURE bingos for a zillion. Both seem like better ideas than XERUSES. C8 EXTRAS also scores well and keeps an S for OILS. #strategymedium
>Matt: ACENNPV 1A APE. +39 271
>Will: AADOORU C8 DA.URA +16 191
#note Saw OREAD but felt the quadrant space could prove to be more valuable at some point. Probably still a #strategysmall at least.
>Matt: CEELNNV 2B EL.VEN +32 303
>Will: GINOOOR 1F ROO +13 204
#note Best for lack of other competitive options. Quackle says I'm at about 1.5 percent win.
>Matt: CCINRTU N6 TIC +18 321
>Will: BGIINOT 12B O.BITING +74 278
#note Hmm, that's lucky
>Matt: CIMNNRU 13I INCUR +20 341
>Will: ?DEKRSY L12 Y.K +20 298
#note This play would've been lethal before YUKE, but it should still be a pain in the ass, and sometimes he doesn't even have the last E. I considered 13A KRAY, which could also be annoying to block, but was concerned that any unhookable block through the T or I of ORBITING would be a game loser for me unless I hit the U of XERUSES, which might not happen some draws, like a lot of draws with the W, for example.
>Matt: DEFMNTW 15K FE +18 359
>Will: ?ADERST 15G ReDE..ATS +158 456
#note Sick finish, I truly felt awful for Matt here.
>Matt: DIMNTTW B11 M.TT +18 377
>Will: A 1N .A +15 471
>Will: (DINW) +16 487
