#player2 Carl Carl Johnson
#title 2019 NSC Round 13
#description Will Anderson plays Carl Johnson in Round 13 at the 2019 NSC
>Will: AEIPUUY 8G YAUP +18 18
#note Pretty close with exchanging. Best thing I can say is that I didn't spend too long on this.
>Carl: CEGIIOR G8 .OGI +9 9
>Will: BDEILQU J8 .IQUED +38 56
#note Gotta recognize how lucky it is to draw BDLQ leaving EIU. Can't leave off the D after a play like YOGI.
>Carl: CEIJPRR 11I J.ICE +28 37
>Will: ABLOSVZ M9 ZO.AL +48 104
>Carl: CIKNPRR 12D PRICK +47 84
>Will: BGISSVV K5 VIGS +26 130
>Carl: AAEMNRR H12 .NAR +24 108
>Will: BDEHSTV 6J H.VED +24 154
#note Also considered 6J VID but figured after KNAR he would be ahead of my BETHS leave to play something with VIDE.
>Carl: AAEMORT N6 .REAM +35 143
>Will: ABHLNST L11 .HANT +34 188
>Carl: AEIORTW O7 EW +32 175
>Will: BILNSTY E10 BY.L +18 206
#note My thinking here, aside from scoring ok and leaving a balanced leave, is that hitting the R of KNAR before Carl would lead to a totally disastrous board, and all I would really need is an E draw for my bingo% to be very high in that spot.
>Carl: ADIIORT O10 ADROIT +29 204
>Will: EINORST 15C INTRO.SE +59 265
#note The post SENORITA board is uncomfortable to be up 80 on, whereas the post INTRORSE board is amazing to be up 60 on.
>Carl: ?AEEIOU 14B EAU +10 214
>Will: EINNSTT I7 N.T +8 273
>Carl: ?EEILOT N13 TOE +16 230
>Will: EINOSST B7 ESSONIT. +60 333
>Carl: ?EEFILO A2 OLEFInE +87 317
>Will: ABDEFGM B2 FAME +39 372
#note Only one rack in the unseen pool yields bingos for Carl: ALNORU?. If I play MABE down low, I lose to that rack; but it's just one rack out of a whole bunch he can have, and he just bingoed, so it's no likelier than random. Next thing to worry about is the X, which plays in two spots. My thinking with FAME was that if I blocked WAX up high and forced Carl to play WAX or XU down low, an O or U draw would give me high scoring reparallels on column C (EMO, EMU) that would easily outrun. Quackle suggests FADE as an 100% win but it definitely loses to several five-consonant, no-X racks.

#note Missed NERD here. #endgamesmall
>Carl: ?U C10 .U +11 377
>Will: GR 12A G. +5 395
>Carl: ? 4A ...s +10 387
