>Tim: ?ADELOW 8D WALDOEs +78 78
>Will: AEEHILX 9H EXHALE +48 48
#note Also considered F6 HELIX and 9H EX but ultimately went for the considerable amount of extra points and board fork.
>Tim: BEGORUY 8M BUY +28 106
#note Played this instantly and didn't consider playing in another wenue. YBORE 10J, OY 10I. #visionmedium
>Will: AEINRST E5 RAT.NIES +82 130
>Tim: EGINOOR 10I OO +21 127
>Will: ACFIPRS F10 FA +28 158
#note Not thrilled with this, but wasn't finding too much I liked better - sims best.
>Tim: DEGINRW F4 DEW +30 157
#note WUD N7. Never considered hooking EXHALE. Also probably better to leave the D off of my play. #visionsmall
>Will: CDGIPRS N7 P.DIC +30 188
>Tim: AAGINRZ D11 ZA +38 195
>Will: GOOPRST 13A GOOP +28 216
#note Played at 13A instead of D3 for a couple extra points and to create the ZAPS hook for myself...it gets hit tremendously harder in response, but I also get significantly more bingos down. Tough call. D3 PROG bingos a fair bit more than D3 GOOP, also, which is surprising.
>Tim: AEGINRT 4F .ERATING +72 267
>Will: EIIRSTV 14D STIVIER +79 295
>Tim: ?ADLORV H12 VA.L +33 300
#note Threw this down right away. OVERLOAD B8 available, but VOID in this wenue looks best. #findingsmall
>Will: EEHNORT O10 THRONE +39 334
#note Gave passing thought to HOGEN...I liked the extra points and tile pulls of THRONE, and sometimes HOGEN gives up pretty heavy scores along column B, though just leaving the G open in column A will certainly yield higher scores.
>Tim: ?DEMORS B8 pREDO.MS +74 374
#note Should have at least seen BEDROOMS B8 for 4 more, but probably would have picked this for defense. #findingsmall
>Will: AAEIOSU 3L AUA +14 348
#note Considered placing AUA at 3K, but wanted to give myself chances for easy QIS or an -SK word if I drew it, hence 3L for two fewer...but I can see now that the combo of AI, UN, and AG after 3K AUA is nearly impossible to overlap all the way through to the DWS - no vowels go on there. 3L on the other hand is much, much easier to overlap with AN, UG, and just an A - EAN alone helps a lot of words go down.
>Tim: CEFIIJR J2 JE. +26 400
#note REFI 5I. #findingmedium
>Will: EIKNOST G3 K.N +15 363
#note Burned a ton of time here trying to come up with something... 3H EKE looks quite nice to set up SER. Another fun idea is 2N KI, holding the case hooks to KA, but it's hard to see how cashing that setup delivers me a win.
>Tim: CFIIRUY A6 RYU +21 421
#note Also considered a sad block of the S hook, but not my scoring options at 2L. #visionlarge
>Will: EIOQSTU H1 QUI.T +52 415
#note Low on time, I played QUIRT almost immediately, but 11K QUICH is also pretty interesting; the problem with it is that any block of SKEN is going to be tough to beat in the endgame. QUICH sims well but only because it has Tim play something underlapping with QI all the time when he would never actually do that, so I stand by QUIRT as a good idea.
>Tim: CFGIIIL N13 GIF +26 447
>Will: BEMNOST 11I NEB +27 442
#note Sadly, I had less than a minute on my clock at this point and had no time to math out all the different options at 11I - NOB, NEB, NOM, NOME. The best play here is amazing; 11I NOM, retaining not only BEST O1, but B(RENT)EST 5D for 37. I can also just play BRENTEST now and easily win. Not spotting BRENTEST under pressure is forgiveable, but it might still have been possible to come up with 11I NOME, leaving BST - but I didn't see I3 BAST as an option, forming KIBE. I guess I should be happy to have escaped with a tie, but one more point in this game and I would've won the tournament...
>Tim: CEIILN B2 CLINE +22 469
#note CLINE/INCLE and M11 ICE both tie for Tim.
>Will: MOST O1 MOST +25 467
>Will: (I) +2 469
