>Sam: ?DINRUV 8D VIRDUiN +78 78
>Sam: ?DINRUV -- -78 0
>Will: AAINSST 8C ISTANAS +66 66
#note 8C is best to minimize the number of points UNVARIED scores while still scoring 66.
>Sam: ?DINRUV D1 VIRUDiN. +80 80
>Sam: ?DINRUV -- -80 0
>Will: ADDEEEL 7C LEADED +26 92
#note LEADED outperforms my bingo of LEADENED here by a solid margin, since LEADENED yields the 94 point UNVARIED and LEADED yields scores in the teens or low 20s, more than making up the 37 point difference between my two options.
>Sam: ?DINRUV G6 V..D +10 10
>Will: AEEFITZ D3 FEAZ.. +36 128
>Sam: ??IINRU 3A UNI.IeRs +70 80
>Will: EIMNRTY A3 .NMIRY +36 164
>Will: EIRSTTT (challenge) +5 169
#note Considered 2E MY and E5 MEATY here. Quackle wants me to continue aggressively playing offense and far prefers 2E MY, but I think I prefer minimizing downside risk here.
>Sam: EFIIKNU H1 FI.K +45 125
>Sam: AEIMOUY (challenge) +5 130
#note Not sure why I challenged this.
>Will: EIRSTTT 10A TITTERS +70 239
#note Much better board shape after my move than 5H STRETTI for 5 more points.
>Sam: AEIMOUY I4 YOU +15 145
>Will: EELRTTW 2E LWE. +31 270
>Sam: ABBEIMO E5 BO.. +31 176
>Will: ENNORTT C2 T.NT +11 281
#note Not looking to open the board here in this lock-down position, so I played inside, but far better than TINT is C2 OINT, holding an N for NOINT.
>Sam: AABEINO B1 BA.I +20 196
>Will: AENOOOR -OOO +0 281
#note Not seeing a need to play anything yet...just planning to respond to his openings as he makes them. J3 AEON is worth a solid 22 points, but the PAEON hooking plays and potential nightmare 4x plays scared me off. Maybe I won't mind the PAEON plays because I'll usually get heavy reparallels on row 1 that close the newly opened lanes, and clearly bingos starting with something like HI- are very unlikely.
>Sam: AEEJ J1 AJEE +37 233
>Will: AEGHMNR 1J .RGHAN +36 317
>Will: EEGLMOO (challenge) +5 322
#note Didn't think of just J6 HM here, which opens a sneakily decent bingo line for me with the nice and balanced AEGNR leave. ARGHAN is still solid, especially with the five extra points.
>Sam: AEINOPQ A10 .EOPAN +27 260
>Will: EEGLMOO B12 MOLE +26 348
#note Just MOE Is better in the same spot to dramatically reduce overlaps; forming AE cuts them off nicely, as opposed to MOLE forming AL.
>Sam: CCDEIQU E10 .QUID +30 290
>Will: AEGOOPR C13 PEG +33 381
#note Can't explain this one, which could easily have cost me the game; the very simple D12 GOOP cuts off EQUIDS and leaves AER compared to AOOR. Yikes. Quackle likes PEG well enough, but strange lapse.
>Sam: CO I8 .OC +6 296
>Will: AIOOORW 2L OOR +18 399
#note Scoring OK, setting up my W, and leaving just one in the bag. Note that the pool is so bad that I'm not actually blocking any bingos, just setting up better endgame timing and preventing fishes that don't empty the bag.
>Sam: CEEGRVX 3L EXEC +59 355
>Will: AHILOUW J9 WHO +37 436
#note Incorrect. 12D LUAU is best, creating a V-stick situation and forcing Sam to block WHIO J9 with 9I ORG.
>Sam: GRSV 12D G.VS +16 371
>Will: AILU 14E .ULIA +8 444
>Will: (R) +2 446
