>Tuoyo_Mayuku: AALV 8G LAVA +14 14
>Dave_Koenig: AGLOOQR K3 GOORAL +22 22
#note Turning over the maximum number of tiles increases the chance of getting something to help dump the Q.

>Tuoyo_Mayuku: ABEIRSZ H8 .RABIZES +110 162
>Dave_Koenig: AELSSTU N3 SALUTES +71 140
#note I did not know SALTUSES. Since I will still be chasing, I prefer playing it at 15A to open as many different sectors on the board as possible. For me this was a choice between SALUTES and SUBLATES, and again because I was chasing I selected SALUTES for maximum volatility. I want to create enough noise in other sectors of the board that she does not have enough time to close the bingo lines through ARABIZES.
>Tuoyo_Mayuku: KNOOY O8 NOOKY +56 218
>Dave_Koenig: CIIIIMR N12 MIRI +19 159
#note Continuing the same strategy of aiming for maximum volatility.
>Tuoyo_Mayuku: GPU M13 PUG +25 243
>Dave_Koenig: CEEIIRT 1M .I +11 170
#note This move looks a bit crazy. I considered something like CIVE, but I really didn't like the way it blocked the R and the -IVE bingo lane for myself. Fishing off the I in a way that kept all the lanes open gave me good bingo shots, and 11 points is a healthy amount for the fish. Yes, I may be helping her to score a quick 42 points, but if she plays there she is doing nothing to block up other lanes on the board and she is only turning over two tiles, giving me more time for a comeback. And if I get lucky enough to hit the spot before her, it may be even more helpful in getting that comeback.

>Tuoyo_Mayuku: NU O1 NU +42 316
>Dave_Koenig: AAEEGHX 5D AXE +43 278
#note A lot of players may be tempted to make a play like HEX in this situation, thinking that leaving the lowest point value tiles possible maximizes the chance of a bingo. But the chance of a bingo with either the AAEG leave or the AEGH leave is not that great, and there is a much better chance of scoring more on an intermediate play on the next turn if I keep the H. For one thing, I already have G12 HAG and J14 HA.
>Tuoyo_Mayuku: ACT G12 CAT +28 344
>Dave_Koenig: AEGHJLT 4A JEAT +46 324
#note I need to take the points and shed the J here. This move is clearly best. Yes, she may be able to make a comeback that scores around the same as my play, but vertical plays from the J will also give me a hook for bingos. And getting her to play there also keeps the A open on row 10.
>Tuoyo_Mayuku: EEIW A4 .EWIE +45 389
>Dave_Koenig: EGHILOP F1 GOPH.. +14 338
#note I had played fast and had a lot of time left on the clock. Before this move I went into a long think. Both blanks are still unseen and there are some very good bingo tiles remaining, but there are also a few 4 point clunkers that could combine badly with any of my high point tiles and prevent a bingo. I have two lanes open on column B and row 10. I'm not going to come back in this game without bingoing, so just taking points with J14 HO is not the way to win. I need to get rid of all of my high point tiles and open up a new front and hope to beat her to the bingos. It took a while to find it, but GOPHER is the play that accomplishes exactly all of these things.
>Tuoyo_Mayuku: EINORSU 2A ONERI.US +66 455
>Tuoyo_Mayuku: EINORSU -- -66 389
#note Tuoyo unfortunately misspelled ONEROUS. While this error does end up making things easy for me, my strategy worked to perfection. She had a bingo-ish rack, but she had no playable bingo. Furthermore, she had neither of the blanks, and I won the race to the first one. Of course, not phonying would have given her a better chance, but at this point she had no guarantees of winning this game.
