#note lots of plays are reasonable here. I4 OX(Y), I3 XI, 4H (M)IREX or (M)IXER
>josh: IMR I3 MIR. +18 36
>jason_li: ?ACEIRT 8A InCREAT. +80 127
#note REACTIv(E). Thought I might have missed something. The tournament started on a distracted note.
>josh: HNORY C8 .HYRON +36 72
#note nice, a new word already. I held and released
>jason_li: ENPRTTU A8 .NPUTTER +83 210
>josh: AJSW K3 JAWS +40 112
>jason_li: AABOPRW L1 PROW +43 253
#note I guess I should play D12 WARP. It looks odd at first, but the P will probably not be used for a bingo, whereas the R is going to stay there until a play comes down where I can play WARP. The B and O are very good to overlap the J or even reoverlap if he has a play making JO.
>josh: ADIV M4 AVID +16 128
#note in this particular case, it would seem that immediately, PROW worked out far better than WARP, which gives him an easy PAVID for 14 more points.

#note feeling pretty good
>josh: ACEISST 1H ESCA.IST +158 299
#note held and released. I guess he deserved this given how I had been drawing already
>jason_li: ?EFGIUU H14 EF +32 377
#note hmm, I appear to have missed N6 FEU. Despite the counter-intuitive things it does, it's definitely better to get rid of the duplicate U here.
>josh: AAEINOZ 11E ZA.AIONE +126 425
#note funny how things change
>jason_li: ?BFGIUU 12L FUGU +28 405
>josh: EGLNT O10 GL.TEN +21 446
>jason_li: ?BEIILO 10I OBI +25 430
#note Quackle suggests N14 OI here. I considered (G)IB and (G)IBE in that spot but not OI. The B is not great because it really only hits the lane on row 2 very often. That's a lane Jason might very well decide to block in many scenarios. Still, I do hit a decent amount of things from the T in ESCAPIST and a few things to the N in INCREATE, but not nearly as much. However, emptying the bag with OBI is a double-edged move. On the one hand it seems to maximize my chances of a bingo next turn, but on the other it gives Jason perfect rack information to make a good endgame decision. I was hoping that wouldn't matter.
>josh: GKLQSTU M11 S.Q +44 490
#note nothing to do here for Jason.
>jason_li: ?AEEILR 2B LEArIER +68 498
#note As my clock was ticking down I saw TEARLIkE and missed TREEnAIL as I always do. I was only 95% sure of TEARLIkE so I decided to just take the sure route. 6 points just like missing the other baby bingo earlier. What a crazy game to start things off.
