#note this was a big mistake. i considered playing SAVED 8K for the longest time, but really wanted to hold on to my case S. but there's really only one spot for the S and he's going to take it. i need to score and keep my X. i did consider that i was very close to 2C MINX, but i didn't think that SAVED could get me a potential I draw. so SAVED has got to be the play. i also overcounted AXED by 6 pts for some reason, then when he corrected me i realized it was even worse. -14

#note this is looking desperate. 5D SIEVE scores 31 but opens nothing and will probably lose. VEER really should not work either, though. i laid down VIRGA 10B and at first sight it looks best, but it is basically trivial for him to destroy the bottom left quadrant and any chance i have of making some sort of hard-to-block desperation opening down there. overall a tough situation. perhaps SIEVE going for the blank, but i'm pretty sure this never wins. -6
