#note the standard placement of VAW is probably fine here. I liked V on the star for a couple reasons - Winter may not realize the Z setup and leave it alone (doesn't happen very often because it gets blocked accidentally most of the time, but it still happens occasionally), it sets up my S for the future (and encourages downward parallels that will keep setting up my S), and the W placement means that his parallels will open a really good parallel spot for me - the W is great for ending 3 letter words, and not terrible for starting 3 letter words. However, ARSZ is not the ideal leave for hitting these W- parallels, since ARS aren't heavy hitters and the Z will not parallel easily. I will have to hope to draw an H or K or M or something. The standard VAW also has the advantage of setting up occasional -Z?S plays for 40-50. The standard vaw is probably standard, as is standard. I liked doing this fun thing cause it had quite a bit of merit, even if not quite enough to make it optimal. I wanted an open board going into this game, which V on the star does not accomplish at all, but I sorta liked the idea of getting some quadrant control started because I feel confident I can open space more effectively than him if need be.

#note weird looking at first but it narrowly sims best! I liked this cause it makes a good S hook for me, blocks a decent scoring spot, and keeps HLST which actually goes fairly well with the C in clown for high scoring double doubles. It's important to play off at least 3 consonants here, and something like SHALL or SHALT is totally fine as well to shed the extra consonant. I liked keeping the S and better bingo prospects with my deficit.

#note fuck wasn't sure of LECHER, looked wrong for some reason. HERL does have better bingo% which is pretty necessary, but I think LECHER is still worth it by a bit

#note keeping the L cause it works better with the B and with the open N

#note with 12 in the bag it's pretty unreasonable to get two bingoes down on this board, so I feel like hitting XI and then bingoing is the way to win the game. I considered OXO right now, but I don't think my scoring prospects are very good before/after bingoing, and XI could get me within 1-bingo range, especially with the pool as ugly as it is.
>winter: GJU 4H JUG +25 386
>wow: AEEIMOX 2F MOXIE +45 315
#note Oh damn I did not consider the possibility of NEMATODE after XI! Down 64, I will be down in the mid 80s after his next play, and NEMATODE will probably be drawing 1 tile (I expect him to leave 1 in the bag after XI). It isn't a great chance of winning even when I hit it, and I only draw it 1/13 of the time. MOXIE has the advantage of leaving 1 in the bag, meaning he will only get one more move (assuming I bingo out), whereas after XI he will get 2 more moves. Both plays are seriously unlikely to win the game.
>winter: DGITTUV C11 VIT.. +16 402
#note VITTA loses to an E draw, I get RADICATE and win by 3! QIVIUT outruns, and anything blocking RADICATE wins 100%
