#note Quackle likes a few plays better than this, but I like this a lot; it blocks a really easy scoring spot and creates a new lane that works well with my SS.

>Will: GIILSSX I6 .X.S +53 200
>Jason: FNO 10F FON +35 226
>Will: EGIILSS 11H GI +10 210
#note This was a mistake; someone with stronger board control than I have wouldn't have played this. The problem with my move is that a play hooking MENGE (for example, a six starting at 12G and reaching the DWS at 12L) might block nearly all of my lanes at once. Something like 3K GIS scores reasonably well, is very difficult to overlap, and preserves all my space at the bottom of the board.

#note That kind of tournament for me

>Will: EENNOOZ 6B ZONE +44 413
#note Quackle is a big fan of this; I have a lot of options for the Z, but most of them leave me tapped out next turn. With ZONE I should very often be able to follow up with a nice big OZONE play next turn, and it's a bit annoying to block.
>Jason: ABN 7A BAN +24 407
>Will: ENOPRUW 2G P.W +8 421
#note Thinking here: Jason can have TURTLED down low if one of the two E's are in the bag; and he can have UNLETTED and UNDERLET through the N of NAIVER if any of RTT are in the bag. Therefore it's best to block the N. I played PAW because it retains the letters for A3 UNROBE, which packs a huge wallop in the endgame; it can be blocked with BRU/ZONER, but then I can always go out in two from there. However, I missed a very cool idea that works out even better for spread: PUKY N1, which blocks both bingos through the N and scores much better than PAW. I still have ROBE through the B hooking OZONE for a solid score as well. Both PUKY and PAW win 6/8, but the endgame sequences after PAW cut it a bit closer.
