#player1 Greg Greg
#player2 Steve Steve
>Greg: AFUX 8G FAUX +28 28
#note Game 2 of the 2019 Purple and Green tournament in Medina, Ohio.
>Steve: BBELORT 7E BLOB +19 19
>Greg: EILP J6 PI.EL +22 50
>Steve: EEGORTV 8A GROVE +43 62
>Greg: EIOOR A8 .OOIER +8 58
>Steve: ADEEETT B5 TEA.ED +22 84
>Greg: EILU I3 LIEU +9 67
#note Plays at K9 for a few more points
>Steve: AAEFHMT H1 AHEM +45 129
#note Best score is AMAH for 50 in this spot. I didn't see it, probably because I didn't know it well enough. Another interesting play is 9G FAM(E). It scores 41 and the leave is terrific.
>Greg: AANO C2 ANOA +10 77
>Steve: AFORSTT 9F OFT +28 157
#note Considered TOFT here for five more points. A sim says that's the thing to do, although it's close with my play and also FAT(E).
>Greg: DEZ 2B D.ZE +28 105
>Steve: AGNORST 12A .STRAGON +70 227
>Greg: ?DQ E11 Q.iD +26 131
>Steve: AEINRSU 14E .ENARIUS +63 290
>Greg: ?CINORU L7 UNICORn. +70 201
#note Finding a unicorn probably easier than finding the 9L bingo available here. I'll leave it for the word sleuths out there in the audience to play the detective game.
>Steve: HINNT M3 NINTH +33 323
#note Forgot to record my leave here. I just remember taking some extra time on this turn.
>Greg: CSSTY 15A CYSTS +47 248
>Steve: EIMPRWW 4L W.MP +28 351
#note TThis is definitely a blunder, to open a triple-triple line. PRIME at L1 for 36, or WIPE at L2 for 30. Lazy more than anything.
>Greg: ETY 15H YET +37 285
>Steve: AEIIRVW D1 I.AR +34 385
#note It's worth noting that Greg played his last few turns with under 45 seconds on his clock. I had 10 minutes, but made the common mistake of rushing my plays to try and push him over. In other words, his time trouble hurt me more than it hurt him, and he comfortably finished the game with 15 seconds remaining.
>Greg: ADEGIJK A1 JAKE +63 348
#note I was confident ADAZE was a phoney, but didn't notice it right away. I said 'hold', but thought that 20 seconds had probably gone by at that point. This is what can happen when focus is shifted away from the game and towards clock management, especially in the endgame.
>Steve: EILVW 11K V.WEL +22 407
>Greg: DGI 11G DIG +10 358
