#note So I at least missed AN for 11, which has to be better than this. Maybe BANDING (which, btw, takes an S) is better also. Or AWOKE?? AWOKE seems bad, as it will probably induce a block on the right side, which would make ADGINN weak. After the game (but before looking at Quackle and seeing AN J6), I asked Rafi, and he seemed to think BANDING was definitely stronger than my play, while I probably disagreed (possibly in part an attachment to my original choice). I gradually came around to BANDING more, though I'm still not really sure between that and AN 6J.

#note Rafi missed OPTIMUM, which seems to be better. I think he thought so, after we had simulated and thought about the position a bit. I liked Rafi's observation that INPT is actually quite strong in this position. Rafi also thought about UNTRIM, which is cool to consider since it blocks well.

#note Maybe in another spot? I dismissed 9M, I think without thinking too much about it -- if I had to put it into words, I'd say it's a fuzzy intution that that sort of play isn't conducive to comebacks. I mistracked, thinking there was an F left instead of an O (typing this just now, I noticed a connection -- my scoresheet has (F)ODGEL written on it, rather than F(O)DGEL, so I guess I didn't correctly process what Rafi did that turn? This brings up an issue with a retracking procedure I often use: retracking by looking at what I wrote down. If I write down the plays wrong, then I might mistrack. The advantage to re-tracking using my scoresheet is that I find it easier to process info that way -- it seems easier to double-count or miss a letter when looking at the actual board, but this is probably easily fixable long-term by paying attention to what I'm doing when I look at the board a little bit the next few times I re-track). Anyway! The point is that YE A3 blocks good scores for Rafi, so that he's more likely to have crap he can't do much with, and maybe I'll only need something like one bingo plus a good score. A plus to this play is setting up EQ- stuff.
>Rafi: ABEETUU A1 TUBE +32 378
>Noah: EINRSSU M6 SU.ERINS +74 337
#note I may still have a shot here -- I noticed the possibility of drawing into EQUATE at least. Dunno what kind of stuff is in Rafi's range based on TUBE. This has to be better than ENURESIS or other bingos though, right? How do the other options ever win? (And do I care much about spread at this point? Well, maybe, idk)
>Rafi: ?AAEHRU 13G AREtHU.A +62 440
#note I lose! My rating at the end of last year was 2018 and now it's 2019. Am I destined to continue this snail's climb?
