#player1 Martin Martin
#player2 Will Will
>Martin: LUX 8G LUX +20 20
>Will: ADEINOO 7H OO +15 15
#note I gave fleeting thought to OXO to make two sevens lines that Martin couldn't close simultaneously without an E for LUXE, but odds are quite excellent that he does have an E, aren't they? Maybe not, because if he had had two E's he probably plays LUXE over LUX to undouble them, so that might lower the E odds slightly. I wasn't very tempted by 9F DANIO; it blows my rack up too much for not enough points.
>Martin: ?AEIPRW 6F WAsPIER +85 105
>Will: AADEINO 5K NAOI +14 29
#note Tough move with a ton of close options and probably no star play. 5J ODEA scores 5 more and is harder to overlap/bingo off of; I sort of considered that to be a bad thing given my early deficit. A lot of the overlapping plays atop WASPIER have the same problem - hard to reparallel with bingos and easy to reparallel for good scores. Perhaps L4 AERADIO is the way I need to go here; or simply do ODEA now and wait for a better opportunity to create more viable bingo lanes.
>Martin: ETY 9I YET +30 135
>Will: ADEEFIR F8 FEDARIE +81 110
#note I thought the defensive difference between AERIFIED and FEDARIE would be roughly equal to the score difference, but FEDARIE is only 6 points better on defense than AERIFIED - not enough to bridge the 9 point difference in scores. Not sure how Martin's play of YET should be factored in; if he's bingo prone, as YET suggests, his bingos will hit harder parallel to AERIFIED, but I'm also giving him much better floaters with FEDARIE in addition to an S hook.

>Martin: EIVZ 12B VEZI. +45 244
>Will: BIMORSU O1 MOB. +33 261
#note Drat, missed BUOY, -3 equity.
>Martin: AGOT B10 GA.OT +26 270
>Will: BDIRSUU A8 DRUB +28 289
#note Even bigger miss of BRUISED; for some reason I didn't think to look in that spot, just considering BUD at A13 and this instead. I liked that DRUB made the UGS hook to pair with the S/CAR hook atop the board, but neither are very likely to be blocked by non-bingo plays, so it might be better to just pin all my hopes on hitting SCAR before Martin and play BUD over DRUB. Both BRUISED and BUD save me a fair bit of grief here.
>Martin: EJW A13 JEW +50 320
>Will: IILOSSU K11 LOUIS +18 307
#note Missed L8 PIOUS, -6 equity.
>Martin: HMT C11 M.TH +51 371
>Will: ?CIISTU O8 .CUITIeS +80 387
#note Figured this and AUTISTIC were a total coin flip but maybe a true Jedi master would've seen the setup Martin made coming even this early.
>Martin: KO N13 KO +20 391
>Will: DDEHINV 2K VIDE. +18 405
#note Brutal choice here - obviously, he has the S, so SCAR felt like the most pressing threat. However, if I choose to block his bingos, I can't score very much, and he's still likely to have scoring plays I'll struggle to beat in the endgame with SKI. My actual pathway to winning here is to block SKI and hope to dodge a bingo for one turn, scary as that seems. Specifically a play like 12H DEVOID looks quite nice.
>Martin: EEGGINS M7 E.GINES +36 427
#note He wouldn't have bingoed with SCAR
>Will: DEFHNRR 1L HER. +27 432
#note Best, not enough. Better pre-endgame and earlier choices win me this game.
