#note very joeyey to keep CERS. DERS seems a bit better here (more bingo% and avg scoring)
>joey: ADDFJKS -ADDFS +0 0

#note ex W bingoes the most, but WHID looks worth it still.
if he exchanged 1 or 2 I would probably do ex W

#note I usually do stuff like this vs. joey, but RINDLESS might be a better version of bingo defense. It gives the huge S lane but besides that not much, and the top left is gonna get closed.
The general reason I want to close the board against Joey is that I believe I am better than him at closed boards, and worse than him at open boards. this is totally a belief but I think it might be partly informed by reputations and our ideas of ourselves that aren't true. I haven't really tried playing him on an open board, although I find his efforts to open the board do better than my efforts to keep it closed.

#note I should play M(A)X or G(A)MB here - got too obsessed with the X. sacrificing 28 points isn't really worth it cause I don't always draw something, and I can score well anyways after max.
G(A)MB looks like a better version of the exchange, and the play here. I keep (V)?X options and XU options while scoring 15 points.

#note I liked FJORD to block QUATRES, even though it has the downside of letting him open the left side and trying to hit a bingo on the left side or the O column.
I didn't consider JOuRN(O) I don't think, but I wouldn't play that because QUATRES can outrun me in the future.
I really liked fjord when I played it but it's far from fool proof
I didn't consider DOJ(O) which is a nice aggressive play - he's gonna play ORBING most likely after FJORD and hope to outscore me, and that could happen cause he could draw the blank or good scoring plays. DOJO basically goes for the bingo immediately, which will score a lot assuming he plays QUATRES.
>joey: BGINORS 10B BOR.. +20 323
#note ORBING is interesting here, basically to try and reach for the blanks and outscore. Leaving 2 in the bag is optimal for outscoring, cause I can't do an out in two too easily. However, he'll be down 12 so even if I just let him do an out in two, it might be hard for him to win without drawing both blanks.
BORAX takes the bingo approach, the only issue being he misses the blanks way more often. It also gets bingoed on way more, with O column bingoes being enough for me to outrun consistently.
