>jackson: CGLOSSY H4 CLOYS +26 26
#note I really rarely open with an S, and even more rarely open with the S on the star! This was a rare position where I felt like it was okay, cause the other realistic option (GOYS) just wasn't that good. GOYS is a lot more defensive which is nice, and I might scare him into sacrificing to not give back an S hook. GOYS is probably okay, though CLOYS sims highest

#note GESTAPOS is the play, or postages. I thought this made sense as a word, but considered that it could be phony because it didn't look nearly as familiar as GAPOSIS. I chalked up some of this unfamiliarity to the fact that I first learned gaposis from one of Jesse Day's annotated games, and it stuck with me really strongly cause it was such a weird word, so I figured that was why gaposes* didn't stick.
but it pays to be safe
>Higby: AMOT 8H .TOMA +8 30
>jackson: ?AEGOPS 9I APOGEeS +75 101
#note APAGOGES and MEGALOPS also play, but STOMAS is also a word!
I considered STOMAE*, but STOMATA is the proper plural, after STOMAS
STOMA ls
it's funny cause I felt like I knew stoma didn't take an S, but if in a different game someone played STOMA right before a triple setting up a case S, I would probably feel like I always knew it took an S
>Higby: HINUW O5 UNWI.H +36 66
>jackson: BEIOTTZ - +0 101
#note based on some calculations I did I figured even if I was 2/3 sure that unwish was good I should challenge, just cause I get ZIBETS if it comes off. I think that calculation is a bit wrong, cause with my lead I'm better off than neutral if I let it stay, and the extra points of ZIBETS over ZIBET mean slightly less at my advantage. I'm in a reallllly good spot if I play ZIBET but closer to even if I challenge wrongly.
Obv analysis is just weird cause it's based off of a feeling of sureness, and it was as simple as I didn't remember UNWISHES and it made sense that UNWISHED would be an adjective. but I was very wrong
>Higby: BFLU 10F FLUB +22 88
>jackson: BEIOTTZ 10K BOT +18 119
#note but of course after two challenge mistakes one always wins
BOT is cool cause the board is so dead, wins a sime. BIZE just gives back a lot on a dead board. If he opens at row 11, I get some Z bombs

>Higby: AADEORU 6N E. +4 117
>jackson: AEEGLOT 12B TOGAE +29 183
#note since I expect him to bingo next turn, I didn't want to play GAE even if it's slightly more immediately defensive, because I want a more open board after he bingoes. LEGATE/GELATE give back a more scorey lane on row 13, and easier to hit with the added hooks. I'm fine with this because my options post-bingo are better
