>jackson: GLNQSUY K8 SNUGLY +32 32
#note very difficult turn! QUAY/QUAG/GUY/UGLY feel more standard, but SNUGLY sets up the Q for plays, and I don't think it gets blocked all too often
SNUGLY raises his average by a ton - the nice part about quay is that it makes the board really S dependent, and I have an S. QUAY sims best by about 4 points over snugly
>david_teich: ADEIV 12H VIA.ED +28 50
>jackson: CDEFJNQ 13J D.NE +27 59
#note man JUN sims best, this seems too cute. CFJQ is atrocious when the U gets blocked or when I don't draw a Q play. I don't average much less after JUN than DYNE, cause CDEF can do a lot better than CFJ, and I can just chill with the Q
exchanging keeping CDEN or DEN is also fine. basically I overvalued the U that is open, undervalued the importance of my leave

#note lucky it all worked out

#note JEFES is a bit unnecessary
>david_teich: ADORSTW 14D TOWARDS +77 182
>jackson: CCFGHLS 8M .CH +24 145
#note whoa didn't realize how much more I'd score with CCHS than CFGLS - 15 point diff! including the scoring defense FLOG provides, it's worth
>david_teich: ?EHIIST 6F HEISTIn. +71 253
>jackson: CFGLNRS E12 FL.G +8 153
#note I don't think I considered FLOC, which looks better! hits big bingoes from the H more often as well cause of the plentiful Is in the bag
>david_teich: IOTTU O5 OUT.IT +9 262
>jackson: CEENNRS 15E .ENE +28 181
#note this was a hard turn - considered fishier stuff like NE, but I wanted to play GENE because I can see ways to win the game with only one bingo, and the fishy plays start committing me to a 2 bingo plan, which I don't have much faith in.
I ultimately was okay with GENE because the C is really good for making n2 setups that take an S, which are hard to block and will score really well if hit.
>david_teich: AINOV 5C AVION +23 285
>jackson: CIIMNRS N2 CRIM +20 201
#note moment of truth - CRIM* is phony, but sets up a valid SCRIM hook for a million. I didn't see another good way to win the game, maybe MICR(A) but that just gets blocked and doesn't do well.
David is a fairly new player, and I know it took me a long time to solidify my 4s, so I figured I could get this past him. He also might not know/see the SCRIM hook and elect to block the A in avion.
as it happened, he didn't look carefully at CRIM and only realized what I played after I had drawn tiles - he would have challenged if he had looked more carefully.

#note want to make SCRIM blocks less likely/harder
>david_teich: BELNRUX 7C .UB +6 361
>jackson: AILORST 12C R.. +6 255
#note maybe I just take ORALIST now cause it's reallllly hard to win after REF even if things go right. I have to draw the X for OXTAILS AND he has to play a really low scoring block like C12 (R)E
it's prob so unlikely that the spread I get from ORALIST is worth it
>david_teich: IX 14M XI +29 390
>jackson: ?AILOST 1H OxTAILS +80 335
#note this was a pretty imprecise game on my end - QUAY over SNUGLY seems more clear now, JUN or exchanging over DYNE, FLOG over OCH, FLOC over FLOG.........
