>Matthew_Larocque: ADGILMR 8F GLIM +14 14
#note I didn't see ALGID, GLIM is bad because it takes the E hook.
>Michael_Loo: EFIISTU F6 FI.UE +19 19
>Matthew_Larocque: ADEEORT 6F .OREDATE +66 80
#note FIGUE looked funny, but I decided to leave it when I saw the bingo. Doesn't help that I unsuccessfully challenged FUGLE earlier. I also have MODERATE, which I saw after, but it's obviously a lot worse.
>Michael_Loo: IMNRSTT K5 M.RTINS +36 55
#note TANTRISM/TRANSMIT!
>Matthew_Larocque: AEEEEQS L4 QA. +28 108
>Michael_Loo: DEFJNRT N2 TREND +38 93
>Matthew_Larocque: AEEEEGS E10 AGEE +12 120
#note GEESE scores a nice 30 here, but it's hard to spend a lot of time looking for plays with a rack like this.
>Michael_Loo: AEFIJNR 13B JEF. +28 121
#note I'd play this one row up.
>Matthew_Larocque: EEEISSU B13 .EU +20 140
#note The Q is gone, but I neglected to note that an X play would be deadly here too. Still, this play seems best?
>Michael_Loo: ?ABHINO 15A H.B +24 145
#note Obviously H(U)B isn't going to win the sim, but from Michael's point of view, it's crazy to leave this untouched.
>Matthew_Larocque: ADEEISS J9 SEASIDE +72 212
>Michael_Loo: ?AINORT 15H cR.ATION +122 267
#note Only 3x3!
>Matthew_Larocque: CEIOOTZ H1 COZIE. +54 266
#note I felt that there was no good reason to play ZOOIER/OOZIER for less points.
>Michael_Loo: AIKOOTV L11 KOI +21 288
#note (T)AIKO!
>Matthew_Larocque: ILNOTUW 12C WO. +27 293
>Michael_Loo: AELOTVY 14N YO +22 310
>Matthew_Larocque: ALNOOTU 8K .AUON +18 311
#note OUZO is kind of dumb without a scoring tile in hand to at least threaten a big play next turn. Vowels are getting short, so keeping some might be a good idea. I didn't see TOLA(R) I11.
>Michael_Loo: AAELTVW D8 VAW +19 329
>Matthew_Larocque: ILOPRTX I11 TIX +45 356
>Michael_Loo: AEGILTV O1 VIE +22 351
#note There's a bingo through the I, and an obscure disconnected seven using the X.
>Matthew_Larocque: BLOPPRY 2G P.LYP +20 376
#note My thought here was that I was probably better off keeping the O so I had flexibility trying to go out. I hated that this only scored 20 points though. I didn't know PROPYL, and despite knowing the hook on POLYP, I missed that I can play it here for 26 points! I still had like 8 or 9 minutes left, but in the end this would have still been good enough to win.
>Michael_Loo: ACGLNRT 4D CARL.NG +20 371
#note As usual, Q hates emptying the bag here, but with this rack I'd proably do the same thing.
>Matthew_Larocque: ABLNORU 1J BURL +18 394
#note I spent about 6 minutes looking for outs with ALO after playing BURN, and the only one is LO(C)A. He can win by playing T(A)D. So, then I looked for outs with ANO after BURL, which I wasn't even sure was valid. I spent less time and could only see NONA/ANON/NANO. I missed ANO(A) in two places. There's a bunch of other plays that work. For example, BOAR and then LUN(A), or BUNA and then ORL(ON)/OR(A)L. For some reason I was dead set on ditching the U first.
>Michael_Loo: ?DHST 9J ..DHe +25 396
#note Forcing me to find ANO(A).
>Matthew_Larocque: ANO D4 .ON +5 399
#note Upside down I thought that *IO was OI at M13, so I panicked and threw down something fast.
>Michael_Loo: ST 5C S.T +10 406
>Michael_Loo: (A) +2 408
#note There you have it; sometimes it's the simplest of plays that proves to be your undoing.
