#note so many bingo bangos

#note Quackle's simulation slightly prefers keeping RT here, so I guess this could be wrong. However it would seem that she is more likely to attempt to set up a hook at this point, so it would be smart to go for an S a bit more.
>Robin_Pollock-Daniel: ACCOTX M2 TOCCA.. +22 151
#note this is a sick play, she said she kept the X here to set it up at N6. It might not be the correct play but it is a sick and slick play!
>Joshua_Sokol: ABEEGRS 1G BARGEES +95 284
#note unduly punished for a nice play
>Robin_Pollock-Daniel: X 6M .X +52 203
>Joshua_Sokol: AEMORYZ 10H MAYOR +45 329
#note I am on cloud nine here, however I could have considered MY for 42 so as not to set up the bottom of the board to get reopened at some point. MAYO is an option as well, or MAY, or YOM or YAM or OYEZ if I think she doesn't have a good play with an A.
>Robin_Pollock-Daniel: AIU C10 .UAI +26 229
#note I saw she had a U and kibitzed that at least she had a U for the Q. She then said that she also had another U.
>Joshua_Sokol: ELNNTTZ 12A ZE.L +46 375
#note now I would normally just play LENT 14C with some discrete aggressiveness, but she had just given me precious rack informaton. Assuming she has a U, opening the Z is not a big deal, as she could maybe have 15 possible triple-triples in that spot, most of them requiring the blank. I had a feeling she probably had the blank, but the U just totally makes ZE(A)L good enough to play, would it not? LENT and ZE(A)L are neck and neck with a U? inference, but with even a U inference, LENT sims best. I fell for the trap here, and a very unlikely scenario followed.
>Robin_Pollock-Daniel: ?BEEISU A6 SUBErI.E +104 333
>Joshua_Sokol: NNNORTT -NNNOT +0 375
#note 5D (Wo)NTON is certainly worth it. I didn't see the option. My downfall ensues.
>Robin_Pollock-Daniel: OOP C2 POO +26 359
>Joshua_Sokol: DEIORTV 2F VIDEO +33 408
#note I didn't want to open the board with (M)OTIVE, but at some point a play from the M will occur, better it be me who scores there. This was bad, VERDI(C)T 4H and VI(C)ED 5K were both misses and both better than this.
>Robin_Pollock-Daniel: AEGHINO B5 OH +26 385
>Joshua_Sokol: ALLNRST 14A SALT +41 449
#note SALL for sure, I doubted a 4. My chances have decreased from 97% to 70% in a matter of minutes and it's not without self-inflicted wounds.
>Robin_Pollock-Daniel: GINOV H10 .OVING +48 433
#note uh oh
>Joshua_Sokol: DGLNNRU B1 GUN +22 471
#note I'm now running the risk of getting outscored AND getting bingo-ed on. B1 DUN is far better than this because it gives me a much higher chance of scoring my own bingo next turn. I was freaking out at this point at seemingly being the underdog here.
>Robin_Pollock-Daniel: N 5D ..N +5 438
>Joshua_Sokol: DIILNPR 12H .IRID +18 489
#note Fortunately for me, DUN vs. GUN did not technically change the result of this game. However she now had unblockable bingos. So it's game over.
>Robin_Pollock-Daniel: AAENRST A1 ATE +30 468
#note and as I hit my clock, Robin said "well, I almost came back". And then I just had to stare into the abyss for 10 minutes hoping she wouldn't have an epiphany and see her bingo. Or maybe EREMITE was like ERUDITE and didn't take an S for some reason. Either way, this was the longest 10 minutes of the tournament. Had anything have been different, she might have seen her win. 517-489, a nice 1000 game it would have been and an incredible comeback. She just flat-out missed the fact that the E made a bingo, apparently.
>Joshua_Sokol: LNP 13G P.N +12 501
>Robin_Pollock-Daniel: ANRS 15C SAN +22 490
>Joshua_Sokol: L H6 L.. +3 504
#note This is a lesson to all of you out there. It's easy to sit back and become incredulous at a high-rated player missing a bingo you saw or checked on your anagramming machine, but when you're playing the game, it's a whole nother situation. Robin relearned this after 4 years tournament-sober, despite her very strong anagramming skills.
