#note some ppl might look at this challenge as a mistake, but I think it is a great strategic thing to do, not just because this puts the game out of reach for John.
The worst thing you can do with a hook you don't know is not play it and not challenge it when it's played: it's good to make a commitment to it being not a word or a word, over time that will benefit you more than being scared in both directions.
Of course you have to factor in the game situation and opponent into the decision, especially since playing a hook and challenging a hook occur at separate points in a game, but it's generally a good idea to stick to it being a word or it not being a word.
