#note no!!!!
as I was typing in this rack, I was thinking "this turn is where I lost the game", remembering my instant regret of not playing FAENA. I do want a tighter board against robin, but something about TAJ-like boards feel way more up to chance than more open boards. I liked TAJ because JT is kind of gross, especially on an open board after FAENA, and I wanted a more closed option against Robin's expansive vocabulary, but I still regretted it as I hit the clock.
but I also missed FANJET soooooooooooo

>Jackson: AEEFINV J5 VANE +26 46
#note once again I miss like all the candidate plays - JEFE, J7 NEIF, J8 EAVE.
NEIF looks really nice to prevent overlaps, JEFE and EAVE give lots back. VANE is okay but NEIF looks a bit better and I gotta at least SEE the other options!

#note actual rack
>Jackson: BEGOORU M10 BE.OG +22 68
#note this felt a bit forced... can I do VOG here? that seems really gross, but she has an S quite often... I think VOG might be better honestly. (V)OGUE is super aggressive, probably too much. BEFOG wins a sim by a point over VOGUE

>robin: ABCHLOS 15H CHOLAS +48 134
>Jackson: ??IOPRU 14I UP +25 105
#note I don't remember seeing the bingoes, OUTPRICE and PRUINOSE, but UP isn't much worse or better

#note considered TAWIE as well, EINT isn't great here, but I ultimately liked it with the Rs open, and Robin could open something up. Tough call, TAWIE could definitely be better (sims 5 points down, but the sim overestimates how much Robin opens)

>Jackson: EEIINOT F9 OI +11 221
>robin: AMMPTYY 8D Y.P +17 275
#note Robin is playing really well this game, 4 years off clearly has not fazed her.
N4 MAM is cool here, setting up UMP! YEP has big defensive merits

>robin: AEMMTY N4 MAMEY +42 317
>Jackson: DEEEINT O8 ENDITE +39 260
#note not loving EINT this time around, she will probably block the R. I really need an S and points to get back in 1 bingo range
>robin: GV K4 V.G +11 328
>Jackson: AAEEOST 7C OA. +9 269
#note happy to find this play - this is not easy to block unless she has an R and a play going southward.

#note This was the most important turn of the game. I need to bingo to win, and I need my bingoes to win the game when they come down. I need to keep 2 lanes open so she can't block one. I missed a realllllly cool play, B3 ATE. It opens two big lanes and most importantly leaves 3 tiles in the bag. Robin can only score big with that spot using 3 tiles, and those plays will empty the bag, allowing me to bingo out and possibly catch her with a Q. She can still outrun me with stuff like FIZ a1, but stuff like TIZ can get outrun occasionally if I bingo out with an F and catch her with the Q. ATE is by no means foolproof if I get the bingo down, but it might work more than AE or TE at L2 since it leaves two VERY hittable lanes.
I liked AE more than TE because I felt it would hit more bingoes on the left side and through the O/N. I'm not too worried about the hooks it sets up because, similar to ATE, AE leaves 4 in the bag and any of Robin's scoring plays on row 1 will empty the bag, allowing me to bingo out for a likely win. She can still play 2 tiles for small, blocking the A column, and outrun most of my bingoes on the left side. This is definitely a problem, and part of why I like ATE more - she can only play 2 tiles (if she doesn't have a big scoring play), and my bingoes will score more. ATE looks super solid, but I'm interested to see if anyone sees other possibilities!
>robin: OZ 2J ZO. +32 364

#note lol I think I missed SENTRIES, not that it ever wins. Should play it for spread cause I'm not winning with this play.

#note this was an awesome game - I was super fortunate to be able to contend at the end of the game, and really wish I thought of ATE!
