#note this is a situation where IAMBI looks obvious to me but is very questionable: thinking about what will actually happen after each play, HIE will get underlapped, but those underlaps will give me great re-underlaps since my H or B are guaranteed to go at 12D assuming his overlapt don't start with DR and just go right (which he should do if he can help it).
HIE wins a sim slightly, but with the fact that Michael will try to be a bit more defensive than the sim, the plays are probably close. I always tend towards the IAMBI-type plays because I like to make the position more difficult - the next two plays will be very easy after HIE whereas IAMBI is more likely to induce error.
>Jackson: DE 9E ...ED +20 72
>Michael_Fagen: DEEHHIN 10I EH +16 77
#note of course my own errors often end up induced as well: I overestimated the potency of the C column hotspot after HEH - although he does average 3 more points after HEH than EH, I am scoring 7 more immediately and I have a much higher bingo %. big error

>Jackson: CINZ 12B ZINC +42 142
>Michael_Fagen: HINOOOY B12 .OO +24 134
#note Q likes ZOO and OOH pretty similarly - I average a lot more after ZOO but I give up 6 points immediately. I wasn't 100% sure of ZINCO so my decision was easier

#note one upside of keeping HINOY
>Jackson: AEIOPUY - +0 173
>Michael_Fagen: AEFNORY 6H FOY +29 213
#note although FOY doesn't really affect his bingo % immediately, I want to start reaching into the top right to make the quadrant closed for bingoes (parallel plays reaching north east will keep the top left closed, as it is now).
one more parallel after FOY and then bingoes can no longer play horizontally. If he parallels again, I can parallel in a way that makes vertical bingoes difficult.

>Jackson: CS 13A C.S +14 232
>Michael_Fagen: ADEOOOT 5I DOAT +22 312
#note ODEA is well worth considering. The only real advantage of DOAT is the longterm closedness of the top right - DOW doesn't take an S (not putting the T in front of OW after he played C(O)S), and plays through the T in doat can really exhaust the top right. He bingoes about as much immediately after ODEA as after DOAT, but I feel like long term DOAT will lower his bingo % more.
That being said, it also sucks to keep EOO cause that can get disastrous, and ODEA takes out the O column which might never be this easy to do. I think ODEA is the play.

>Jackson: AELSTUV -- -42 232
>Michael_Fagen: AAEOORU 6L EAU +7 319
#note closing the right for bingoes... I could do OUR(I)E but that opens a new lane on the N column, allowing him to open another part of the board. I'd rather shut things off now so he can only open one section at a time, and so I can be the cat in the cat and mouse game.
