>Joshua_Sokol: AKLNOUX H4 KLAXON +44 44
#note still getting over the last loss, I'm now in 11th place. I was struggling to find a play here for around 3-4 minutes until I finally saw this.
>Matt_Graham: AGILOPT G8 GALIPOT +68 68
#note GALIPOT is also valid with two L's. I didn't know this. Luckily, Matt missed it or talked himself out.
>Joshua_Sokol: ?AELSUU 5E ULU.AtES +78 122
#note Finally saw this after another few minutes, but missed the 7. 4 points better and positionally better to play AcULEUS.
>Matt_Graham: DEHIV 4K HIVED +37 105
>Joshua_Sokol: ABNORST 11C SORB.TAN +70 192
#note another mistake, as I was unable to see the other word in here. TABORINS is safer, but SORB(I)TAN sims better because this board is already extremely volatile, and the S-hook on SORBITAN acts more as a scoring spot, which is something I could benefit from more than Matt. Lucky to not have made a mistake here after missing.
>Matt_Graham: JNU 10B JUN +30 135
>Joshua_Sokol: EEEOPTW H11 .OPEE +35 227
#note I really wanted to get rid of this dangerous hook/easy bingo lane for the rest of the game. However, I could continue this game by playing WEE(P) 12D for more points and not worry about the hook just yet. I can always make a blocky play at H13 later if it feels necessary. Still, I enjoy this move. Matt held for a while.
>Matt_Graham: HOOY O1 HOO.Y +36 171
>Joshua_Sokol: AEEEGTW 12C EWE +29 256
#note I could play 12B EEW here for 2 less so as to neutralize row 15, or better yet, 12A WEET, almost forcing a play down column A. I decided to leave the board as is and not create a scoring spot for Matt if he doesn't have a specific rack or an S.
>Matt_Graham: DF C9 F...D +26 197
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEGGIT I5 .GITA +29 285
#note close to AGIOTAGE, don't worry, I will play that in 34 games or less than a month
>Matt_Graham: IIII -IIII +0 197
>Joshua_Sokol: AEEGRTW J10 G.AWER +16 301
#note he's clearly going for it now, let's play some tiles and block some lanes. This doesn't sacrifice that much in terms of equity, so I think it's warranted.
>Matt_Graham: IN C7 IN..... +12 209
>Joshua_Sokol: EEOQRST E2 REQ.OTES +67 368
>Joshua_Sokol: EEOQRST -- -67 301
#note I was in great shape here, even if I lost a turn, so I decided to go for this, but not after a long thought process of trying to remember if it was ROQUETED or REQUOTED*. I couldn't remember well enough (for example remembering CROQUETED as a hook to ROQUETED would have immediately shut me down from making this play). However, I fgured I was in fine shape even if I lost a turn. I could play Q(I) B7 if he doesn't open anything huge, or Q(IS) if he does, and hit an enormous amount of bingos. I could even exchange QE if I am afraid of drawing an I. Or just play STORE for 43 and outrun Matt.
>Matt_Graham: BR 12J .RB +10 219
#note this was definitely a difficult move for Matt. Luckily he didn't have a bingo. That was the worst case scenario for me. Now I'm probably fine.
>Joshua_Sokol: EEOQRST L3 Q.. +12 313
#note It's preferred not to risk whiffing and play ROQ(U)E or Q(U)OTE. I was tilted, so I made a worse play.
>Matt_Graham: AEENRST M7 EARNEST +74 293
#note another misscore that I missed. That's 4 points at least that I could have easily retrieved. Not happy that I didn't recount this play. After losing out of 3rd place in 2013 Division 2 by 1 spread, I should have learned my lesson. But I was really shaky and tilted and hadn't turned my tile over, just happy that I will still probably win.
>Joshua_Sokol: DEEORST B1 TEREDOS +72 385
>Matt_Graham: FIN 8L F.IN +33 326
#note also feeling very lucky that Matt didn't draw the Z-bomb or a 3x3 after his smart play.
>Joshua_Sokol: ADILMOR 15J .AMROD +36 421
#note it took a lot of courage to play this, as I wasn't 100% sure.
>Matt_Graham: ?ACEIVZ E4 C.Z +14 340
>Joshua_Sokol: EIILMTY A1 ITEM +44 465
>Matt_Graham: ?ACIIUV 1J AVoUC. +13 353
#note should block my outs
>Joshua_Sokol: ILY 10L I.LY +9 474
#note oops, supposed to slowplay as well.
>Joshua_Sokol: (II) +4 478
