>Noel_Livermore: ?AAILNZ D7 ALIZAr.N +84 238
>Noel_Livermore: EEKORTU (challenge) +5 243
#note A very nice find by Noel! I've never seen it, so I challenge.
>BJ: EENWY 15A YEWEN +64 216
#note Last game of the tournament, I'm frustrated with what seems like bad luck (but some bad decisions too, of course), and so even though I don't think I've ever seen the word ALIZARIN, I take a wild guess that it takes an E, as many chemical names ending in -IN do. Plus I really wanted to get rid of some dreck, and couldn't find another better word using the open hotspots (forgot to record the other two tiles on my rack, unfortunately). So I throw caution to the wind and try YEWEN. Noel looks at me like I'm crazy, and laughs, because I just challenged ALIZARIN itself! So we go up to the challenge computer and both of us are like "WOW!", for different reasons, when it comes back good. Unfortunately, with all the to-do, I only took +5 for the challenge even though he did challenge both words.

>Noel_Livermore: EEKORTU -- -101 243
>BJ: ?DIMTUY C5 YUM +18 234
#note Missed TUMIDLY.
>Noel_Livermore: EKORT A8 TROKE. +33 276
>BJ: ?DEIOST E1 fOISTED +70 304
#note I spent a long time looking for a way to avoid starting in row 1, but gave up. DEpOSIT at E3 would have worked, but that was it among the many sevens. 12H NODDIEST was the onyl other place.
>Noel_Livermore: EIJV H1 JIVE +49 325
>BJ: AHILMRR B2 IHRAM +47 351
#note I'm happy to play IHRAM, for no good reason other than it is syntactically interesting (only word starting with IH-, other than its own plural) and I've never played it before. Plus it scores a bunch of points!
>Noel_Livermore: AEU A1 EAU +16 341
>BJ: EEGGLPR 10D .EP +20 371
#note For all of the synergy of the last few turns, it all went down the drain. Suddenly none of my letters flow with this board. Danger.
>Noel_Livermore: ADEOTU F1 AUTOED +31 372
#note Noel makes a great find. I could be in big trouble.
>BJ: BEEGGLR 11C B.L +14 385
#note 11A KEBAR was the play, it was what I was looking for to block up all three of the hotspots in the area, and I couldn't see it. Curses! I didn't like my choice of BAL but I was hoping maybe he'd do something silly and give me a place to play EGGER and go out.
