>Jackson_Smylie: BMU 8G BUM +14 14
>Joshua_Sokol: DDEEFIV J6 DEF +22 22
#note I feel like J8 FED has to be the play here. Jackson's range is pretty precise as far as I can tell, and this provides a bit less for him to work with than DEF, even though it doesn't really help me, especially a few turns down the line. I knew FIVE would be the preferred equity play, but I had a real bad feeling about that. I would have gotten 2x2ed on.
>Jackson_Smylie: ADEGIRT K1 TRIAGED +74 88
>Joshua_Sokol: DEIINOV 1G INVI.ED +36 58
#note VIDIO(T) might have good equity here but am I really comfortable closing the whole top of the board up down a bingo? Not sure. DIVO(T) is fishier but am I really comfortable leaving a big scoring spot at 2J on the board with a leave that might turn into garbage only down 40? Not sure. I think I chose the right play.
>Jackson_Smylie: ACRTV 4G CRAV.T +24 112
#note imagine the board after VIDIO(T) and CRAV(A)T. Dying super fast unless I immediately hit a bingo with EN. Maybe I would have.
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEJKOO G7 E.OOK +13 71
#note OK this position was absolutely awful, but I found a sharp line that might provide me with some points within two turns, or at least a way to rid myself of all of the tiles on my current rack that I just don't want anything to do with at this point in the game.
E(B)OOK doesn't immediately set my J up, but it is a very good way to keep the board alive, and if I draw another O, I can either make the setup myself by forming (K)A and playing to the triple or hope Jackson does the work for me.
Another option is 7E KOA. It sets up JO(K)E or JA(K)E and once in a while I can hit a miracle RIOJA/KA or a J-bomb if Jackson plays an _AK_ word and I draw a T, R or H. At this point I'm not sure which I like better. Probably EBOOK because it's less sniffable as a setup play.
>Jackson_Smylie: ?BEITX 2B BEmIXT +62 174
#note If he sniffs the setup H11 IXTlE might be better, but this looks good enough on its own
>Joshua_Sokol: AAGIJPQ 1A GAP +26 97
#note Better would be a setup play such as 11E PI(K)A or 11D PAI(K). PI(K)A looks better because not only does it set J(I)G/J(O) up, it also allows me to hit (A)QUAE or (A)QUAS sometimes. It also doesn't really seem too setup-y, although Jackson would probably figure it was a setup since we do this to each other all the time, and everyone tries to do it to us.
>Jackson_Smylie: INW 3C WIN +31 205
>Joshua_Sokol: AIIJOQU 11G .OJI +15 112
#note H11 AJI is probably fine, this is clearly a Q setup so it's not going to work in most cases.
>Jackson_Smylie: EHNT 10J HENT +28 233
>Joshua_Sokol: AAFIQSU N6 QUAIS +46 158
#note he almost gave me AQUAFITS, and no spot for ALFAQUIS, but I missed QUASI 12D which is clearly better even though it scores 1 less. Gives far less back and doesn't close off the whole right side of the board.
>Jackson_Smylie: OTW 12H WOT +34 267
>Joshua_Sokol: AAAFHOS 8L HA.F +42 200
>Jackson_Smylie: EGL 13G LEG +26 293
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEEMOS K9 O.S +38 238
#note no other way to score and stay in the game, but Quackle somehow believes in M10 (T)OEA because I can hit a decent amount of things on row 6. Both Jackson and I were totally blind to R(EBOOK) at this point, even though that should have been a lot of the point of E(B)OOK when I originally played it.
>Jackson_Smylie: ?AEINNY O1 CENTOI +38 331
>Jackson_Smylie: ?AEINNY -- -38 293
#note CESTOI and CENTAI mixed up, I catch a huge break, and yet I'm still in awful shape
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEEEMU -AAEEMU +0 238
#note AM, AEM, EM sim slightly better with no inference
why did I sim with no inference
he doesn't have the blank, so exchange more
they still sim better
Wrong.
>Jackson_Smylie: CEILNOT M10 .OLT +8 301
#note Quackle wants to drop the L for 7 points. Hmm.
>Joshua_Sokol: ADEERYY H10 D...RY +42 280
#note still blind to R(EBOOK). It's worth considering 6E EYRY or EYRA, but I think it's time to put a bit of scoring pressure on to tell Jackson that I can win this game without a bingo if he isn't careful.
>Jackson_Smylie: CEINOS 14F CO.S +26 327
#note however this was pretty brutal
>Joshua_Sokol: AEEERSY L12 EERY +28 308
>Jackson_Smylie: EILMN 15L .LEM +27 354
>Joshua_Sokol: AAENSUZ D2 ..ZUNA +28 336
#note here goes
>Jackson_Smylie: ?AIINNR C7 AIRNINg +69 423
>Jackson_Smylie: ?AIINNR -- -69 354
>Joshua_Sokol: AAEELPS E5 PALEAE +28 364
#note Luckily I still had some time here to figure out what to do. Pretty quickly I determined that PALEAE was a tie, but I tried to figure out wins as well, and saw nothing that guaranteed a win.
I can't play to MIZUNAS because it gives him bingos, and it would seem logical to block his bingos, RAINING and INGRAIN, since although I could still potentially win after those wiith my own bingo, it doesn't seem clear at all.
I could hit RELAPSE/REPEALS or REPULSE if he chooses to play INgRAIN, or PRESALE/PLEASER/LEAPERS, PERUSAL/PLEURAS, EARLAPS if he plays RAININg, but those happen only when I draw the right stuff. I see that if I play PE or PA at E5, I can win 1/3 of the time after drawing AREOLAS or AREOLES.
So in the end I chose to take the tie, as he could still screw up and give me the win, being low on time.
I didn't have enough time to calculate whether or not I won after (D)ORS if he played ARIs(E) or RAIs(E) hooking MIZUNA, but I can't because he has NIN(E) to the E in PALEAE.
