#player1 George George
#player2 Will Will
>George: BOO 8H OBO +10 10
>Will: AAAALRR 9D ARAARA +15 15
#note Which placement? I figured after OBO# George was a favorite to bingo and perhaps getting a free shot at an 8A play would work out better than letting him pluralize ARAARA# and have no way to score. However, safer ways to approach this turn would be G7 ALAR or I6 LABARA. I thought there was a decent chance of my play getting +5 that would push it over the top.
>George: ?EEESTV E5 sEVE.EST +90 100
>Will: EELMNQY 10C EN.MY +33 48
#note ENEMY and EYNE are pretty close. It was hard to tell which play left me most vulnerable to plays at 8A, but I figured ENEMY was better because it stops plays ending in -KE, -ZE, and -JE. The extra tile pick to try and draw a U was helpful as well.

#note Fine with the AEILT leave here, as a bingo starting with E would be ideal (UPBYE, AYE)
>George: NNNN -NNNN +0 291
>Will: AEGILOT 7H GO +14 250
#note This move was tougher. It occurs to me now that crippling the 10I lane with my play wasn't the best idea, since that's the only one other than OBOE that can be somewhat flexibly used. Also, with so many Ns to come, keeping GI was probably a good idea. 2H POT, G1 FOE, 2G APO, and I1 JO are all interesting choices. Playing off just the O hits the most, drawing to ELATING and EGALITE (along with many other words that don't start with E). Given that I can fish the O for the same score as GO and gain a good chunk of bingo%, that's definitely better.
>George: ANSSTTZ J7 N.S +14 305
>Will: AAEILRT 2H .ATRIAL +35 285
#note George's play of NOS threw me for a loop. What could he have had? A lot of consonants, obviously. Almost certainly not either H, else NOSH. Also difficult to imagine that he had an E here, or else an OBOE play ought to have come down. Does he have the Z or K? If he has the Z, he surely doesn't have an O, else ZOO. Probably not an I, else ZAYIN/ZOBO# (though that's a tougher find). I decided that after NOS, enough of his range could not contain the Z, H, or K that outscoring was a better path than bingoing.
>George: DEZ 1M ZED +52 357
>Will: DEIKLNT K4 DINK +27 312
#note DINK is a good play, but the best play is 8G KOBOLD, keeping a second precious vowel and opening more lines without closing UPBYE. Beautiful. Also, LINK apparently bingos 1.5% more than DINK, which I can forgive myself for misevaluating.
>George: ST 3M ST +31 388
>Will: ELPSTTU C1 PET +27 339
#note This was forced, since the score is such that I have to take the 27 points to stay in range.
>George: NV 5J V.N +6 394
>Will: EHLNSTU 8G L... +12 351
#note CP spits out 7B EH and 8G HOBO, wanting me to dump the H and fish to ELNSTU. I think every time George has the other H, it's having him play NOSH plays that open the board, after which I bingo through the new lanes. I feel like that will never actually happen, but maybe it actually could? The idea behind LOBO is to draw SHUNTED/SHUNTER, which is very tricky to block in all of the spots it plays (on the post-LOBO board, it plays in 4 spots - LAYS, OBAS/NOSH, GONKS, and VINS).
>George: H J7 ...H +15 409
>Will: EHINSTU F14 I. +5 356
#note Drat, this is obviously wrong, since the R draw I'm hoping for gives him LARDOON to go out, and the D draw is more easily blocked, since it won't play to my newly opened lane. I was in a bit of time pressure and couldn't spot my winning move. The best play here is simply 12D UTU#, which auto-wins with the A or O and could maybe force errors with an R draw. Not that hard a play - I found it pretty quickly reviewing the game - but I still need practice spotting CSW hooks automatically, as opposed to only with focus/effort.
>George: ADLNORR 14F .D +6 415
>Will: EHNOSTU L7 SHOUT +22 378
#note I drew the O, so obviously this should've been a win. I also went overtime a few minutes for no good reason - precious spread I didn't need to lose.
